Should be called "Ranch with a faint hint of Dill" as these are not good dill pickle, fried or not
I don't think these were released in the Pacific NW when first introduced. These have gotten good reviews in the past so I thought I would give them a try on this re-release (August 2019). These are a fail as they are mostly ranch with only a faint dill flavor that gets buried by the ranch. I have tried Lay's dill pickle chips and they are not as good as Old Dutch dill pickle chips so I think the problem is that Lay does not know what a good crispy tart/sour pickle tastes like, fried or not. Frying does mellow out dill pickles but should not crush the pickle flavor. I guess I'll have to continue to import Old Dutch pickle chips from Canada and then use a homemade ranch dip if I want a proper dill with ranch potato chip.

Just a weak crappy ranch
As soon as you open the bag you're hit with an aroma that makes you scrunch up your face and think of bad ranch. I even closed my eyes when tasting the first chip and it was literally just a weak crappy ranch flavor (if you even want to call it that). I highly recommend staying away from these and sticking with the Dill Pickle flavor as these actually have a taste that lets you know it's trying to be a pickle.
