Prophet of the Dead (Brotherhood of the Griffon Book 5)

For those of us who have developed a bond with Aoth and his band of mercenaries, this installment keeps the story rolling with more to come. I am interested to see where the author will take Jhesrhi in her quest to come to terms with her new affinity to fire and the problem of losing herself once she succumbs to the desire.Lackluster:1. Aoth seems to be a little humdrum at this point in the storyline. It would be nice to see some evolution of the character.2. Sarshethrian and Lod's story line was a lttle short for me.Key Points of Interest for me:1. Aoth's conscription of men and a valuable resource at the end. Dont want to give it a way by spelling it out. It will bring an intersting piece to the next story.2. Jhesrhi and her character development.3. Vandar Cherlinka; this character has some potential in the out years.

I enjoyed the book thoroughly, from the characters to the story to the battles! Definitely going to read more from this author!

I loved all five books. They held together as a story. The ending of the 5th book makes me want to read more about the brotherhood. The new elements to Faerim were fine additions although I thought more explanation of where the bad characters in books 4 and 5 came from would have added to the plot. I thought the first three about the red dragon having a "good" past could have been explained a little more. However the depiction of his sinking into evil due to his capture experiences was great.All in all I want to read more about the brotherhood and more from Byers.

This is one of my favorite authors and this is one of his best books. I hope there will be more in the series. If not, I hope he starts a new series.

This book would have gotten 5 stars, but the author finds it necessary to use words that exceed my vocabulary. The storyline is absolutely fantastic and Richard Lee Byers should be held in the highest regards. Backstabbing characters will have you craving their demise in this book! Read it!!!

The conclusion to the current arc of the Brotherhood of the Griffon. The memebers of the Brotherhood who went to Rasheman in The Masked Witches are now separated as the Undead menace they believed they defeated continues forward with their plans as their leader enters the fray.As each isolated group of hero and villain pursues their goals the story builds well with good payoffs at various moments and a very good conclusion. Most of the open questions in this story arc get resolved and new interesting possibilities emerge from the end results should lead to more great Brotherhood books in the future.

This book was fullof excitement and the charaters were just as strong and believable as in the other 4 books of this series. I hope there is a book five and I enjoyed following the Brotherhood of the Griffons. This book continued where the Maske Witches left off. I can only hope that Richard continues this series. THe Brotherhood is an exciting band of mercenaries that I have enjoyed following.

Im Buch wechseln immer wieder die Handlungsorte, da die Hauptakteure am Ende des vorherigen Buches geschickt verstreut wurden. Jede Gruppe hat so ihre Probleme. Durch den Wechsel erzeugt der Autor eine gewisse Spannung, die zum Weiterlesen animiert. Was mich gestört hat ist, dass es wieder einmal um die Rettung der Welt ging und die böse Seite wirklich strohdumm zu sein scheint (oder überheblich?).

Very good, still will leave you waiting for a sequel.
