There is a 1000:1 voltage divider internal to the probe. The probes "output" (plugs to meter.) impedance is ~1mohm (the 1 portion of the 1000:1). The meter needs to be at least 10mohms input impedance to maintain the general rule of being =>10x the piece being measured in order to avoid loading and and incorrect low results etc... **Q: How does the meter know it's reading high voltages? Or does it just tell you the reading in 'volts'?** A: The meter won't know that it's connected to a 1000:1 divider probe such as the 80K-40. The user will have to convert the reading (where 1V on the meter represents 1000V on the circuit). **Q: Dear Sirs! Is any Metrology Certificate(s) supply with new Probe?** A: No certificates were supplied with the probe **Q: The connector of this probe is banana type or not?? also whats the ac dc voltage range of this probe??** A: The 80K-40 is a high voltage probe designed to extend the voltage measuring capability of an AC/DC voltmeter to 40,000 volts peak AC or DC Overvoltage Category I. This means the probe can only be used to make measurements on energy limited circuits within equipment. Examples include high voltage within televisions or photo copy machines. DO NOT use this probe to measure high voltages on power distribution systems.
