Awesome Wheel
I am a racing enthusiast and I was looking for a replacement for my g25 steering wheel that went belly up. I really liked the g25 and although mine died, 6+ years of heavy usage were decent enough that I considered sticking with Logitech. I’m glad that I didn’t. One day I saw that the Thrustmaster 300RS GT was on sale and I jumped on it. The 300RS GT is a Cadillac among beaters. 1080 degrees of motion, awesome peripherals (Yes, get the TH8A, you will not regret it.), the force feedback feels like the real deal and the movement of the wheel is extremely fluid. Some people complained about the pedals not being good enough… about 5 months of heavy usage and they are awesome… and just to make thing better my g25 looked like a toy, this one also looks and feel like the real deal. Pros: - Great range of motion - Sturdy construction - Bang for your buck - Several enhancing peripherals available. Cons: - Not necessarily a con but the paddles rotate with the steering wheel, although some cars are like that, I prefer static paddles. Did not knock a star for it because it excels at everything and this is a preference more than a failure. Other thoughts: - The force feedback is very strong. If planning on running it for hours at the time I strongly recommend it dropping it to at least 50%. Running at a 100%, 20 minutes feel like an hour, if you know what I mean. If my review helped you in any way, please let me know by clicking the "helpful" button below. Any questions you may have, feel free to ask… Thank you!

Thrustmaster is a Bustmaster for this customer
UPDATED: The entire issue was the plug. I did need to spend an additional 11.00 dollars to add the proper plug for US sockets. The wheel is terrific and provides good feedback. The pedals are adequate. I suspect I will someday (soon) be upgrading these. I moved my review up to three stars from one. I remain ticked that I was not made aware that the packaged plug wouldn't work in the US or that a second plug was included in the box. I mean, really... I spent good money for this wheel and pedal kit only to spends hours trying to understand why it will not work with my brand new PC. 1. I was sent the wrong plug. I live in the US but my plug is for the UK. Why? I didn't order any special versions. In fact, I went with the "Amazon" recommendation. 2. I've done every configuration the company lists here: updated firmware, uninstall-reinstall, plug directly into the computer, the wall, etc. The farthest I can get is for the light on the wheel to be green (green = PC) and for the wheel to rotate in one direction only for calibration. Nothing else works. I can see the Thrustmaster app on my computer and my racing sims see the controller too, but nothing happens when I press pedals and/or buttons. 3. Getting in contact with the seller is not an option through Amazon. What? Why? You can with any other company. Hate this product. Just don't understand how in an age of plug-in and play this one is plug in and see your hair go gray.

Pretty awesome starter wheel
It has stronger force feedback than I expected, I had never used a sim wheel but can definitely feel the bumps and wheels losing grip (depends on the game of course). It was really easy to set up and get working. I do recommend looking up some FFB settings videos and trying a few out until you find one you like. The wheel feels nice and quite heavy for it's size, gives a quality feel in the hand when playing and is a very nice size for racing. The buttons are good too, feel a little bit more wobbly than a PS controller but they work fine and are in a nice location to access most of them while racing. The pedals are ok, they look a bit cheap and plasticy but feel strong underfoot. I tried the conical brake mod that comes with it but I think that just shortens the brake travel and makes it harder to trail brake, best to stick with them the way they are out the box. Most importantly, my lap times have dropped by about 6 seconds compared with using a controller at Monza (previous best was 1:54 in a Ferrari GT3, now it is 1:48, after a month or so of playing ACC with it). Really can't recommend enough, it has made sim racing way more fun for me and I think I'll get years of use of it.

The gold standard mid-range racing wheel.
I have been racing on the PS4 with the Logitech G29 for several months now but it just felt like it was missing something. After reading lots of reviews and looking at several videos I decided to take the plunge and get the T300RS GT. It seems to have slightly shorter USB cables than the G29 but everything else feels far superior. Firstly, you can interchange the wheel for different models just by unlocking a collar. The wheel itself feels heavy and sturdy and the buttons have a very solid feel to them, especially the paddle shifters, although the T300 has a rubber coating and the G29 has a slightly nicer feeling soft-faux-perforated leather in the hand. The base is very solid on the T300 and can be secured with a slightly awkward screw bar or, as i have done, hard-mount it to my playseat using two bolts - not supplied (but the G29 comes with 4 when it only needs 2, which was handy). After playing with the T300 for a short while it quickly became apparent that the wheel had a much heavier feel to the driving and the belt-driven force feedback is much stiffer, without the clunkiness of the gear-driven G29. Although the GT pedals in the T300 look terrible at first sight compared with the G29's, they are actually much more accurate and are more adjustable for your preferred feel, plus they have a rubber conical insert which helps with the stiffness of the brake - while this sounds ridiculous it really makes quite a difference and my braking was more progressive with fewer lock-ups and less need to keep messing with the brake balance. Overall, although slightly more expensive, the T300RS GT is the superior product and you really notice a difference in your lap times when you play. The G29 is still an excellent wheel though and will suit most hobby racers to a T, but for me the T300 RS GT is a much better wheel set.
