Edges Curl Up
This is a very good product, but the edges do not remain flat. They curl up a little which is only a problem if my chair rolls of the mat. Then I have to hold down the edge with my foot to roll the chair back on the mat.

Nice on white hardwood floor.
I bought this several weeks ago It was hard to find this size. Fits my purposes. I thought it was a clear plastic but the photo is accurate--an opaque, milky white color...which is PERFECT for my new 'Midnight Maple' (beach white) hardwood floors. My only and small regret is that it doesn't have an approximate 20" x 20" stub insert on one side to cover the floor under the desk where my feet land. I didn't find a separate matching smaller one buy to place there either. I don't think a purchaser would be as pleased if this was used on a darker wood flooring. However, overall I'm pleased with the purchase.May 4, 2017 review update: Still very pleased with this purchase. It is perfect for hardwood or laminate floors, especially if the floor is light colored. It's not made for carpeted flooring. This is definitely to protect wood and laminate floors.. You'd think I purchased a different product, because I'm surprised by the negative reviews. My mat arrived flat, not curled. I don't trip on it. It doesn't slip across my floor. It's been used below an office chair with wheels and under a plain director's style chair without wheels, and the mat does not slip around.I still rate it a 4 because I still wish it had a smaller square insert so that the area under desk floor would be protected when I stretch my shoes under the desk.I've been using it horizontally <--> (48" wide) with much success. Since changing out the wheeled office chair with a directors chair, I've found that I slide my chair backward passed the 36" edge. Now I've placed the mat vertically (36" wide), so that it is 48" long backward, to protect the floor when I do an extended push back of the chair. I bet I could continue using it vertically, placing part of the mat under the desk legs and edge of an adjoining cabinet--to protect the area under my desk from footprints, and still cover the area behind the chair when I push the chair back. (The adjacent cabinet is too heavy to try lifting up the side to slip in the edge of the mat under it, so I'll do that have to empty the cabinet, and then try to option in the future, then refilling the cabinet.)I remain quite pleased about this product and I will purchase it again if it comes with an "insert tab"--not sure if that's the right description-- to protect the under-the-desk area from shoe prints.

Poor choice. Updated to reflect excellent customer service.
Update 03/23/2018I'm updating this review to reflect good customer service as in the end that is what counts.I am not sure what to change the rating to though. Amazon needs an additional rating for the seller’s response to a customer complaint about a poor performing product.I am changing this to 4 stars due to the excellent customer service. They do stand by their product, even though it took a while to do so. The company contacted me regarding my 1 star review by phone (which I missed) and eventually by email. They offered to make it right by sending me a replacement chair mat at their expense. The new one is clear (not blue), thicker and of much better quality. It is a huge improvement over the original. Thanks Iconik Direct.Update (08/05/2017) - I see that the company has contacted a few purchasers about the mats being blue. Mine is blue, contact me. Seriously, why don't you contact us about the extreme curling of the edges or the white marks/cracks that constantly form. This is way more annoying than it being blue (although the blue is annoying). If you have a new or better version of this item, contact me.I can't afford to waist money on a defective product.I should have read the one star reviews better. This is my first ever review and I'm usually satisfied with my purchases. Not this one. Within 5 minutes it had what looks like scratches deep inside the plastic. In 1 day it was bending up at the corners. My toes discovered that fact.It was packaged poorly, taped to an opened up Amazon box. It had a bar code and a "Made in Israel" sticker on it. That's all. NO product label, no company label, description, warranty info, etc.The Q&A section says that they are made in Vietnam. I'm just assuming that it is a legit item. Maybe that is the difference between the 1 star and the 5 star reviews. And it's very blue. I'm not sure what Opaque means, but I didn't think it meant blue.I'm disabled and It's too bulky for me to repackage, carry down 2 flights of stairs and return. I guess I'm stuck with it. Lesson learned.
