Hickok 82065 Scan Tool

Called Hickok to activate. Hickok found it in their system and activated it. Software is current to 2011. Hickok siad that since I purchsed it within 90 days of the release of the 2013 update, the update would be free. Still waiting on the Hickok update, Hickok said they normally update the software every year, but they were a little behind. I have used it once, it works. Unlike the older T-handle there are no colored cards that need to be purchased and updated seperately. Also to use the older T-handle (1995-2009) on CAN cars to program keys I would have to purchase a CAN adapter for 750 dollars and update the cards (for some Fords starting in 2003, and on all 2006 and newer )(I believe the old T-handles can only be used on 2009 or 2010 or older vehicles) So for just a little more money then updating the old NGS, I have the new NGS 2 that does everything an updated old one will do, plus all fords Fords from the current decade with the occational software update. So, yeah, I am happy.

Buyers and owners BEWARE!! Has Corrupt Firmware from New! Displays random characters and locks up modules on CAN Vehicles 2005 on up, try it for yourself!! BI-Directional controls on most all CAN modules.. MFG aware of defect and continues to sell them.
