Hasbro Star Wars Darth Vader Voice Changer

First - The Mask is awesome for the price! It fits on my head just fine (after a small adjustment on the inside). The pre-recorded Darth Vader breathing and quotes are awesome! I am really glad I bought this to add to my Star Wars collection. The downside is that the voice changer doesn't work that well...oh and if you have cats...be careful because it will scare the living daylight out of them. Overall - I am very happy with this purchase and it is worth the cost.

After wearing the helmet and taking it off twice it fell apart the out side came off and would not stay on I had to get a piece of plastic and glue it on the outside of the inter piece and inside of the helmet not well make at all for the price. would not recommend

Everything is nice and perfect the voice changer doesn't work well but that's the way it was made. Hours of entertainment an looks good on display

The Darth Vader Changer Helmet is a great toy for children six years or older. I puchased the helmet for my four year old son who insisted on having it for his birthday. However, when he opened the box and activated the Darth Vadar voice, he became quite scared. Since, then he refuses to go near the mask and runs whenever he sees it. On the other hand, my seven year old daughter loves the mask and plays with it frequently. So, the purchase was not a total loss.

I am a huge Star Wars fan and recently purchased this helmet and mask from Amazon.com. This toy comprises of three main parts: The mask, the helmet and the chest piece, which serves as the electronics panel for the sounds. 1.The MASK -The mask is made extremely well, it is all an even black except for the tusks and nose which is painted with a silver metallic ink, made to look like silvery metal. This may scratch off easily at the tips, but I imagine it can be easily touched up with a permanent silver pen as well. -It is very well ventilated at the mouth area, the chin area and even in the cheek area (hidden holes). -The lenses are made from dark thin curved plastic which easily fogs up. Visibility is sometimes slightly reduced as a result but you would expect this from any costume mask. -There are three main strapping devices to hold the mask in place, all are extremely sturdy. It was made presumably for young adults and children but unless you have an immensely HUGE head it should fit, because of the adjustable straps. -The chest piece and the mask is permanently connected via two thick fabric straps. Inside the mouth area is where the plastic insulated microphone sits, it is connected to a hidden cable which extends through one of the thick fabric straps down to the electronic chest piece. -The mask is an excellent representation of the movie character. 2.The HELMET -This is the second part of the costume. Like the entire toy, the helmet is made from an extremely durable plastic. It slides on to click onto the mask, and where it sits on your head may depend on the size of your head. The simple fastening tab is located near the bridge of the nose and forehead. It's not the strongest way to hold the mask and helmet in place but it gets the job done. -The shape of the helmet is very good, but it is maybe about 15% SMALLER than the movie version, presumably to save the manufacturer a lot of cost. As a result, if you are a discerning collector, you may not get it 100% accurate, but it still is a lot of fun. 3. The ELECTRONIC PANEL/CHEST PIECE -The panel serves as the speaker and button section. The panel comprises of three buttons: 1. Breathing sound. You get the signature Darth Vader breathing sound by pressing this button. It 'breathes' 4 times, then you have to press it again. 2. Assorted Movie Phrases. Press this button once and Vader's electronic voice says one of these phrases: "Your powers are weak" "Don't make me destroy you" "You DON'T KNOW the POWER of the Dark Side" "The Force is with you" The phrases come one at a time in that exact order. 3. The Voice Changer Button. Press this button to activate the microphone. At the bottom of the panel is a slider button, marked 0,1,2 and 3. Make sure it slides to either 1,2 or 3 to activate your voice changer. Then, you'll need to speak loudly, with as best a James Earl Jones voice as you can, accent and phrases and all. You will obviously hear your own voice in the mask, but the panel speaker will create the accompanying Vader voice, which is not perfect but hey it's pretty good. Selecting buttons 1,2 or 3 will give you different tones of Darth Vader's voice, so pick your favourite. Don't expect miracles, just a lot of fun. Overall, I have to say this is a great toy for Star Wars fans of all ages, it's not an exact replica because of the size of the helmet but it's very close, it's durable, it's fun.

I love this mask and I am 32!!! The voice changer has a microphone in the mouth piece of the mask that I turned close toward my mouth and works pretty well. The other customers that complained probably did not put the microphone close to their mouth like the instructions suggest. My ten year old loves it too!!!! If you put the control piece close to the helmet while the voice changer is on it makes a creepy sound that he loved to scare me with. I am very satisfied with this product and received it quickly. The lenses on the mask are easy to see through unlike a different mask I ordered from Rubies. Very Satisfied*

I bought this Helmet not too long ago, and it was great looking in it's box. It took a while to get it out, and had to adjust it to my head to try it out. The pre-recorded voice came out nicely. It is the voice changer that I had trouble with. The voice changer has three level button on it, and I tried all of'em. None realy worked. I mean it, not a single one of them even came close. At times as I have read in other reviews I had to shout just to hear the outcome, which you could probably tell that it would have sounded bad. I tried to wisper my breathing and I got close to the original breathing voice of Vader. I am a big fan of Star Wars, but this is pretty disappointing.

I was very disappointed. The mask was dusty and you can not open it to replace the batteries. I paid $80.00 for it.
