Probably the most modest of the Tandem Twin Set.
If you're reading this review, I'm assuming you have some working knowledge of the Anime figurine collectible scene. However just in case you're a curious wanderer looking through some random items, I'll humor you.First and foremost this is a figurine display and not an action figure. It's designed to be viewed and displayed, but not touched or manipulated often. Also, this is a pre-painted display piece, not a garage kit. What's the difference? Garage kits require you to assemble the figurine and then paint them. It's a whole hobby scene that is connected to collecting Anime figurines such as this one, but also different in its own right. This is ready to be shown off from the get-go out of the box, no assembly required. Now for the rest of us, this piece from Yamato USA's Tandem Twin series is the most modest of the set. You can visit [...] to see the full line of girls in the series. Basically the entire set's theme is animal girls. There's no real rhyme or reason to them, but they all are linked to an animal in some form or another. Lynx, Dog, Sheep, and Leopard so far.Every single figure has an alternate appearance (or twin if you will) that differs in accessories and colors scheme. Lynx has the most variations followed by Leopard, then Sheep and Dog. Basically the idea is to have two figures side by side which are the two variations of one another.Merino the sheep girl is the "tamest" girl of the set. She has a big goofy, carefree smile and expression on her face and her posture is very welcoming and forward. Although her outfit isn't necessarily something you could wear to work, compared to the other figures in the set, it's the most modest. It's a good display piece to keep out on the home office desk / computer desk without too much awkwardness. She comes with two hairstyles, neck high and ponytail. Both can be interchanged freely. Her black display base has two very large prongs that stick into her feet, so even though she may appear to be leaning forward, she is quite secure onto the base once you attach her. I've had other figures that lack this feature (Something I kinda find annoying), and Yamato definitely didn't oversee this. You have to pull her off the display base literally for her to be dislodged from it and topple over. You should be able to find Merino fairly easily as she is probably one of the cheapest models in the series. Her twin sister Wolala is more expensive and rarer. Both Wolala and Merino are also both "PG-13" rated in that they don't have any nudity. Other girls in the set can be nude, but this one can not.Yamato is a very respected figurine maker and this particular series shows off their finer attributes to attention to detail. Excellent paint job, sturdy construction, and overall just pleasant to the eyes, it's hard to find a fault within the Tandem Twin set outside of the demand problems and costly price tag of some of the girls. If you're new to Anime figure collecting, this definitely isn't a bad place to start. Go pick up Merino and have her "Wave Hi" to you every day while you find more ways to waste your money on Amazon!
