L'arte del Madrigale: La Venexiana

I'm really amazed!!!. Madrigal genre isn't my first option in early music,( seconda pratica,la armonia comme serva dell'a parole, music as servant of poetry), rather I prefer the prima pratica, « older style», because as a musician , melody , harmony ,counterpoint etc. represents almost everything to me...before to know la Venexiana!!!. They know how to transform one music, sometimes hard to hear ; in a glorious and sweetter one. They're really know what they're doing. Their phrasing sounds absolutely natural, their complicity is total!!.. All is perfection in this nine cd box, from Giaches de Wert ( one of Flemish creator of madrigal genre), passing by Marenzio, one of the Monteverdi's teacher, the mad genius of Gesualdo, Luzzaschi( Gesualdo's teacher perhaps), and D'india, one of later exponent of Monteverdi's art. Here I take off my musician and theory , and just I let myself go and fly by this SUBLIME INTERPRETATION!!!

A Gorgeous Collection (and a bargain)
Gorgeous music by (with the exception of Gesualdo) relatively lesser-known madrigalists of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The performances are exceptionally beautiful. Full notes and texts (in Italian, English, Spanish, French, and German) are included in PDF files on one of the nine discs.
