Steve did a fantastic job breaking done Sambo fundamentals, techniques and skill building. This is a great reference for both people just finding Sambo, as well as current practitioners. Definitely a great book .I was amazed when I got this book the other day , color photos , and wealth of techniques . if you are a fan of Russian Sambo or Catch as Catch Can Wrestling , or Grappling I urge you to get his book

It is a cool reference to look over before and after sparring
Definitely a must have for a serious grapplers library. Steve Scott puts out a lot of information for free, and this book delivers. It is a cool reference to look over before and after sparring. The leg locks and take downs are the real gems of this book.

Although the book can be good for beginners
This book, has many submissions. However, it is overrated. Combat Sambo has got around 600 locks. The books seems to demonstrate only 200 of them. Moreover, the book misses a lot of throws, holds, single/double leg takedowns.. I expected more. Although the book can be good for beginners, it isnt for advanced fighters ;(
