I bought this for my mom a few years ago. This is what I can tell you....1) it holds up well. There has been very little break down except for along the sides where we end up sitting. But that is pretty normal as we are both plus size women.2) This mattress is not and has never been "extra firm" it's medium firm at best. And it kinda wobbles like a marshmallow. Regardless my mom was fine with it.All in all.... it's okay

I do like this mattress with limitations: I've had this mattress for about a month now. As people have said this mattress arrives very firm - it feels amazing at first. BUT, this mattress also has gel and memory foam in it. I think that's probably the disconnect . Honestly I didn't even think about the memory foam/gel aspect when I first bought it. The idea of memory foam is to allow more give in some places than others. When I am lying flat, face up, in the bed, I can tell you that my butt is lower than my head. Being female my butt / thighs are my heaviest area so they sink more into the foam than my head/legs. Gel will also move out of the way of the heaviest spot. I had previously bought a foam mattress and didn't like it at all, in fact returned it. The foam sank too much for my liking and made me hot at night. I can say that I sleep very well in this bed and I have had lumbar and neck problems before buying this.The bed also does not hold my heat (because of the gel layer) which I think will be great in the summer! And isnt a big deal now in the winter as the blankets do hold my heat.But here's the bad part - IF you are buying this bed to sit in and use your laptop, or watch TV sitting up - it's not good for that. As I've just discussed the mattress has a foam topper - you will sink. Done repeatedly I assume it will in fact make a permanent dip. This mattress does not flip but you can spin it to rotate the sleep space. It also says, as does feel like, it has extra lumbar support.I have cut way down on sitting up in bed. My TV is high enough that I lay down to watch it. I did used to work on my laptop some in bed but don't need to (in fact it's better for me not to), so I have cut that out.Bottom line - if you are looking for the foam/gel experience in a 'firm' mattress then I think this is a good buy. If you have to (or want to) sit up in bed a lot then you may just want a traditional all metal spring bed.I hope this info has helped - happy sleeping

Shipping took over three weeks, and went two weeks past the original shipment date.The mattress was amazing at first--great, firm support, but the padding on top kept you from feeling like you were sleeping on cardboard. It has since developed a noticeable sag--not super huge, and there's still support underneath it, but there is a sag. I was expecting the mattress to last longer than a couple of months before starting to sag though. A bit of a let down, really, but it's still providing better support than my last memory foam mattress, and sleeping on a different side of the mattress is a fine temporary solution.

BEWARE OF THIS PRODUCT! Paid $320 (including tax) for this mattress April 18, 2016 - delivered May 2, 2016 - Amazon's last date to return this item if defective May 27, 2016 - Today is June 8, 2016 mattress top pad has shifted to one side - It's not flat anymore and uncomfortable to sleep on but I can't return it now according to Amazon return rules. Used it for about a month and a half .........

I adore my Sleep Inc. 13-Inch Body Comfort Select 2000 Luxury Extra Firm Mattress, Twin! It came in yesterday, August 4, 2016, delivered to my front door, sealed in thick plastic for protection. This beautiful mattress is very light, so my friend and I, in less than ten minutes, easily placed it on my handcarved Indonesian marriage bed and immediately laid on it to "test" it. And, ohmygod, what an incredibly firm, yet cushy and cloud-soft this mattress is! So much so, that we didn't want to get off it, though we had to go back to work. This mattress has a cushy, silky-soft expensive Tencel cover, and the mattress itself has an innerspring and memory foam core, with a cushy and beautiful pillow top. It also has a 360 degree foam encasement that keeps the edges of the mattress rigid when one sits on it. Also, there was no obnoxious smell when we removed the plastic cover off the mattress. But the best part was sleeping on it the first night. Oh how wonderful and restful my night was! What a delightful feeling of lying on soft, yet supportive clouds I had! I have never, ever slept on such a comfortable mattress, and for the first time in years, I woke up with no back or other body parts pain--now I understand why orthopedic physicians recommend a supportive mattress. I am also impressed and happy that this wonderful mattress is made in the USA, and also that it is so very reasonably price! Plus, with Amazon Prime I didn't have to pay for delivery, and to add frosting to the cake, this mattress has a ten-year limited warranty. Again, I adore this mattress and highly recommend it.

This mattress has a 10 year warranty. I lassted about 18 months. Both sides broken down so you feel like you are going to roll off onto the floor. I cannot find a place to request warranty guarantee be honored. Not even Amazon, although they claim to, will respond.

After sleeping on this for about a week. I have noticed a dip in the middle of the bed. We have decided to return, maybe it's defective. 3 stars for made in USA really trying. The firm has lost its firmness. The edges are firm and I like the hight of the bed as we'll.

I was expecting an EXTRA firm bed (bcoz of back pain) as the product title says but I did not find it very firm. It does sink in quite a bit when you lie down but comfortable and worth for the price.
