"Science rose out of a Christian worldview and so did education, hospitals, charity and the concept of individual liberty." ~ Rice BroocksRice Broocks says that you wouldn't expect to find Bill Gates if you dismantled a computer, so why would you expect to find God in a test tube? This book is humorous at the start, then it gets down to the business of the intellectual battle for faith. I felt this was a compelling conversation about what Christians and atheists believe. While reading this well-written book, I had a few moments of revelation where I'd never considered a concept as deeply. The last sentence on page 84 is an example. Some of the questions this book answers include:Why does irreducible complexity matter?Can mind emerge from matter?Do living creatures all have a common ancestor or a common Designer?There is a chapter dedicated to the discussion about whether or not Jesus existed. Then there is some information on the reliability of the Bible. The thought that only perfect love and eternal purpose can fill the longings of the heart also seems very relevant.Basically, if you find yourself in debates with atheists, this book explains a lot about what atheists believe. There are many, many quotes by Richard Dawkins.So if you want to think more deeply about current debates on Christianity this is a good place to start. This book seems written for seekers or believers. Skeptics should enter at their own risk. :)~The Rebecca Review

I loved this book. If I had any complaints, it would be that the author is oftentimes a cheerleader for the God-exists side that gets a bit repetitive. But the points brought up in the book that are in favor of God-exists are very solid. I was pleased to find several statements made by the author that I had already suspected, or I had already come to the same conclustion, so that to me, helps to give credibility to the points made that were new information to me. This book definitely helped me on my spiritual journey, it helped quell some doubts that occasionally creep into my head. Recommend it to EVERYONE regardless of your religious standing, it will help convert the non-believer or those seriously questioning God, as well as the established believer, it will help reinforce your belief in God.

The 'New' Atheists with nothing 'new' to offer as argument, their 'modus-operandi' is to use mockery and ridicule when we don't offer a valid scientific explanation...thus we, as Christians, need to be 'informed' in order to make our case. If you feel 'intimidated' and aren't able to respond (debate) to questions out of fear...and feeling inadequate - this book is for you. It's the book the movie was based on...and although the movie was 'good'...the book is 'outstanding'! Rice can make you a formidable adversary with new-found knowledge that justify your belief and your conviction - stronger. Absolutely one of the very best books I've read on the subject we hold dear to our hearts. It 'reminds' me of Lee Stobel's - A Case for Christ - another favorite of mine. "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to every man who asketh you a reason for the hope that is in you," - (1 Peter 3:15) With knowledge retained...and practice with a friend or life group - you can be more 'persuasive' in your delivery with a new found confidence. Well worth the the price of the book and you won't be disappointed!

Great book, definitely a good read for new believers or skeptics, and great book for thouse who just need a reminder of how great God is.

Strong book, not going very deep but lots of wisdom! Very much recommended for those who have questions about God in the era of confusion.

This is a fantastic book given you knowledge on evidence for a creater and designer of everything the exists.For believer's it will increase your knowledge of what you already believe.For non believer's who struggle with the thoughts of there can't be a God this book will open your mind to the possibility God just might exist after all.
