Bachmann Trains BAC00720 HO Desert Flyer Train Set, SF

My son loves this set and I got it easily and conveniently through Amazon Prime with one click purchase, and at a great price with fast free delivery. The steam locomotive is very sturdy and takes the rough handling from my 4 year old son. With just the larger drive wheels and no smaller wheels in the front or back it is easy for him to place on the track. It comes with an oval set of steel alloy track that for the most part is easy to connect. Unfortunately the connector pins can easily get bent out of shape and make for more difficult connecting over time. It is cheap to get replacement pins but they are difficult to remove. I ended up pulling out half the rail of a track when I first tried removing one to replace.The train runs smoothly and cars connect easily though if the coupler holder bends downward the hard wire that hangs down from it can get stuck in the track "ties" interrupting the movement by stopping the train or causing derailment. Also, the wheels do tend to fall off the cars but are easy to fit back in, you just have to keep track of them. Though, they are also easy to get replacement parts for. Overall it's a great starter set and has provided a lot of enjoyment for my son.

one of the cars arrived warped, and we didn't have enough time to return it before Christmas. Our grandson was very disappointed that he could not use the red car to carry cargo.
