Great addition to the kitchen.
Love this. We mounted this in our kitchen to match our other "rustic" looking accents and it looks great. Functions perfectly also. Highly recommend this for your beer opening needs.

Beautiful construction, the finish looks as advertised
Beautiful construction, the finish looks as advertised. Works great! Yes you have to turn the bottle at an angle to open but this is how most wall mounted bottle openers work!

Jk but it is a great thing to have in the kitchen
Got it for my husbands birthday and he loves it. Works perfectly. I don't understand the reviews that you can't open a bottle with it. We just put it on the wall and haven't stopped drinking yet. Jk but it is a great thing to have in the kitchen

Great gift!
This was a great hand crafted gift for my husband! It came with a note that truly made it feel like it was made just for you! And it was, I could still smell the fresh stain when it arrived! My husband loved it!

The people who make this must drink their beer from cans because it doesn't work on bottles.
I received this as a Christmas gift and was excited when I opened it. I normally would not post a negative review about a gift, but I have to make an exception in this case.First, I'll start with this positive.... This looks great. You can tell that it is hand-made by someone who knows what they are doing. The cap catcher is well constructed and the finish job was well done. So, if you want something that looks nice on your wall, then this would be a good choice. However, a bottle opener should be functional, and that is where this one fails. I'll explain the disappointments in chronological order....When I went to wall mount this, I discovered that the screws it came with for wall mounting were too large in diameter to fit in the holes of the bottle opener. Being a handy guy, I drilled out the holes on the opener.Next, I discovered that the pilot holes in the wooden cap catcher were also to small for the provided screws. Not wanting to split the wood (it's just pine) I drilled out those holes as well. With the holes drilled, the rest of the installation went easy (luckily there was a stud right were I wanted to mount it). With my beautiful new bottle opener mounted to the wall, I decided to reward my handiwork by popping open a "cold one" with the new bottle opener. Unfortunately it would appear that the bottle opener was not designed to open bottles because in order to get the cap into position, the bottle has to be held almost horizontal which resulted in a nice pool of beer in cap catcher. In fairness to the people who made this, I don't blame them for the spilled beer. I should have known better! What did I think as going to happen when I took the cap off of a bottle of beer that was horizontal?OK, so after cleaning up the beer and drinking what was left in my bottle, I search Amazon for a replacement opener. Having had a good experience with Star "X" bottle openers in the past, I bought the Pepsi-Cola Wall Mounted Bottle Opener . In retrospect however, I should have bought the Black Plain STARR "X" Wall Mounted Bottle Opener as it would have matched better with the cap catcher. Anyhow, I digress...Today the Starr X bottle opener arrived and I changed it out for the one that came with the cap catcher. After drilling another hole in the cap catcher (the old ones didn't align with the new opener), I was easily able to mount the new one and lucky the new opener covered the unused hole from the old one.Great, so now we have a time-tested bottle opener mounted on a well crafted, nice looking cap catcher. All set, right? WRONG! Imagine my shock when I pulled another bottle from the ice-box and opened it up only to have the cap fall from the opener, drop into the cap catcher and then bounce back out and fall onto the floor. I must have had the most dumbfounded look on my face because my wife broke out laughing uncontrollably.Well, at least it looks nice....EDIT - 1 month later.....I discovered that if you fold up a paper towel to pad the bottom of the cap catcher, it prevents the caps from bouncing out.
