Changed my rating after a few months of use
These are great! I was hesitant because of the price, but I have a dog who is scared of absolutely everything and tends to run up and down the stairs and keeps slipping/falling, so I had to do something. These are much nicer than most stair treads I've seen and they were so easy to install. It took me less than an hour. I debated for a long time on which color to get and ultimately went with the Taupe. I will say that they're a little grayer than I was hoping. The picture they show is definitely gray, but based on other's reviews I was hoping it was more brown. But, it's a nice greenish brownish gray with grayish tan stripes. The color is hard to describe! I'm including some photos of the before/after, but these probably aren't the best to use for color representation, as my stairwell is very dark. From the top down it looks like a full runner. So far I'm very pleased with the product based on overall look, ease of install and function.**UPDATE 6/15/18 ** - I still really love these stair treads, however, they do not stick well, so I'm changing my 5 star rating to 4. Within the first few weeks, my husband was walking down the stairs and one of the treads completely came off as he stepped on it and he nearly tripped and fell down the stairs! One of my dogs regularly "flies" down the stairs and she's pulled these things off numerous times. I feel like I have to constantly "think" while I'm walking down the stairs so I don't make any misstep... mainly walking too far forward on the edge of the stair. We recently bought some carpet tape that we're going to add to the backing so they are more secure. I did not want to do that though because the beauty of these as advertised is that you can pull them up without damaging the wood.

Nice looking & stairs more comfortable, but check adhesive on each one
Initial review after installation. We purchased (11) 31โ Jardin stair treads to cover our unfinished basement stairs. We also purchased carpet tape as recommended in many reviews. Installation took about 75 minutes. The stairs look good, and they are more comfortable to walk on. Here are a couple of things we noticed during installation.Individual stair treads are packaged in a plastic wrap, and there is no peel-off strip to get to the adhesive. For some of the treads, the plastic had to be peeled off the adhesive, and these treads seemed to have a more tacky adhesive surface than the treads where the plastic was not in contact with the adhesive. For (6) treads, one side was consistently less tacky than the other side (we used additional tape on these). We also had one tread where the carpet is no attached at the bullnose corner. We may need to get a replacement for this one.UPDATE: After several weeks of use, noticed that one (1) tread 'walked' forward on the step, such that the bullnose portion was no longer flush against the step bullnose (the tread bullnose portion flaps a bit). We are going to re-position this tread and apply carpet tacks in an attempt to prevent recurrence.

My top step had a different molding on the back by the riser and this prevented a good seal with the carpet
Bought a few for my indoor back stairs since my older, larger dog was slipping on them when she would run in and out of the back door. The adhesive is only a small strip on the back, not the whole square. For two of my steps this wasn't an issue. My top step had a different molding on the back by the riser and this prevented a good seal with the carpet. That carpet square did end up sliding off after about a month, but was easily fixed with three small tacks in the back. They make my back stairs look much better and now my dog isn't scratching the wood and she can run down the stairs without slipping. I also like that they curve around the end of the stair as this makes it looked finished and not just some piece of carpet I plopped on it. I'm thinking about adding these onto my stairs going upstairs as the stairs are quite steep and difficult for my dog to go down.

Great purchase highly recommend for safety
I consider these a must have. I purchased for a young dog who does not do well on hard wood. They were so easy to install. I was moving and did not want to invest in anything expensive. They were easy to remove and I actually installed them in a temporary townhouse I was living in while my new home was being built and then a third time in my new home on the basement steps! The hard wood has never been damaged ( and nobody or no dog )has ever slipped on the stairs.

Look great! But beware- these are NOT gray!
I love the design of these and the ease to put them on our stairs! They make going up and down the stairs SO much easier for our dogs, which was our main purpose for buying these. They look great and don't show dirt! My only disappointment is the color. From the picture, I thought these were gray. They are NOT gray. They are definitely a brown tone- no gray at all. This was a huge disappointment for me, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything close to the design, price, and ease of install so I ended up keeping them.

These are the best! I have two young kids that are all over the place. We have a foyer that goes up into four steps to reach the main level. With hardwood floor, you know the traction isnโt always the best. These have helped keep the kids from slipping down the stairs and also helps our senior dog get better traction going up and down them. I absolutely love these. They are well made and look great too. I put off buying them for a while but Iโm so glad I finally did it. It gives me a peace of mine that the stairs are safer. Plus they look great too!

Very Nice! But dont stick on own
We like this but had a very hard time putting it on stairs. Stairs were cleaned and lightly sanded to help stick better but did not stick as described. Moistend and did everthing possible to keep it down. So I was foced to use gorilla glue on all corners and several drops in the center and alot more on the curved part of pad. Its been a couple weeks now, and stays down, but Im noticing a line mark across the stair (from end to end) were the bent padding is curved. The hard plastic is showing up. Depends on how much traffic you have will determine the durability of this padding. Suggestion to the seller to include a tube of gorilla glue. For the price of these pads I believe you would receive better reviews.
