How to Play Go: A Beginners to Expert Guide to Learn The Game of Go: An Instructional Book to Learning the Rules, Go Board, and Art of The Game Kindle Edition

This “book” is 37 pages of double spaced, size 14pt font, ramblings of a person who has a limited grasp of the game of Go. Numerous typos and grammatical errors do not help the author attempt to confusingly explain the rules of Go. This pamphlet also lacks simple black and white photo examples of Go problems. Complete waste of my money and half an hour of my time. DO NOT BUY!

basically, this is a definition of the rules and a (very) limited definition of some (very) fundamental go vocabulary. it contains nothing of value about how to play. at all. it's a decent introduction chapter to a larger book and that's it. when I reached the end I was very surprised that that was it.also, lots of spelling/grammatical errors. basically this is like a B- high school freshman essay on go for some writing class. maybe slightly longer, but not by much.I totally want my money back. even just 3bucks seems like a total ripoff.I just bought "go: a complete introduction to the game" for 5$ and the difference is astounding/astronomical. this is nothing short of a naked money grab.

This little book is full of miss-spellings and or miss-prints. I am giving microscopes to my grandchildren for Christmas but these books are an embarrassment for me to give to young minds practicing! Sending them back.UPDATE: This book actually was intended for my grandchildren to go with the magnetic GO game sets from Amazon. The microscopes are not related to this review. These are being returned an a better alternative has been ordered. Prime is a good service and makes this issue easy to resolve.

Compete waste of money. Not a single diagram or picture in the book (seriously... not one). The author repeatedly spends a paragraph explaining placement rather than simply providing a visual and focusing the narrative on strategy.I knew I should have just learned via YouTube. Lots of great stuff there.

The old cliche is true...you get what you pay for. I thought for $6.95 I would at least get an intro to the game. Nope. What I got was a rambling discussion of some of the rules and strategies. What I did NOT get was any diagrams. Yep. Not a SINGLE diagram in a book about Go. And to cap it off, the chapter about the basics ends with this sentence..."You are fighting a great war". That tells you all you need to know about the writing. Sheesh.

36 scant pages. Not one illustration or graphic on GO play samples or set up. Feels like a school project written by a lazy middle-schooler. Advanced play section consistent s of 2 1/2 pages, font is large, broad spacing under 150 words per page. I’ve never played GO before, but this book has sapped my desire to learn further rather than the reverse.

This book felt more like an article about the game Go, rather than an introduction. Very short, not well written or translated, and had no visual diagrams. Anyone whom did not know how to play prior to picking up the book wont know how to play by the end of it. Choose a different book if you want to learn the game.

Great disappointment. The sample only included the history of the game. The book has approximately 38 pages and limited description of anything beyond the most basic ideas. In a highly visual game, there were no diagrams or illustrations. Not recommended at all. Most beginners would be confused by all the words without a single diagram. Experienced players would not need the all the words.

Someone took the rulebook for Go, slapped a cover on it and put it in the Kindle store. Don't waste your money.

Book is without pictures hence not a good usability

No diagrams. Is for beginners not experienced players. Big text, easy to read, but the lack of diagrams would make it confusing for beginners. (Unless they play it out on the board) Several spelling errors.

英語の勉強も兼ねて、囲碁に親しもうと思って注文したが、文章による説明だけで、碁盤の図が全然載っていないので、素人には、どのように碁石を置いて囲碁をするのか、何もわからない。これは不親切だ。　多少、囲碁がわかる人なら、わかりやすい英語なので、英語の勉強にもなるし、自分で碁石を動かしながら、あるいは、頭の中で碁盤をイメージしながら、読むことができるかも知れないが、初心者には、それができないので、本書によって囲碁を学ぶことはできない。
