This is the best German Rye Bread since the rye bread my mother and grandmother made when I was growing up!!!

The bread did not come sliced. It tasted very good, but I will go back to my previous order ofGerman Farmer Bread, preferred the taste and it does come sliced for the same price.

It's got taste, texture, rind, and all good things I'm looking for in a bread worth eating. I love it and will get plenty more! Thank you for making an expat German very happy!

I was disappointed with the bread. It had no taste and springy. I grew up eating bread from Chicago - Cicero and Baltic ryes which were like the bread we had in northern parts of Germany. Alas, they are no longer as the owner's kids no longer had interest in making these excellent breads when the parents past on. I like bread from Dimpflmeier bakery in Toronto, but no one in SW Michigan stocks it. I order a 1lb loaf via Amazon but it costs was $9 to ship it from Toronto. I'll keep looking online in hope of real German/Baltic rye breads. It would cost too much for my family to ship from Berlin.

Great disappointment. Why did this baker put sugar into their bread. That‘s not German!

I can bake my own pickle-juice rye, but lately I just cannot find time for bread baking. And so I decided to try this one from Amazon. The bread is similar in taste what I remember from living in Poland. Polish rye is the best, of course. I love this bread. It holds well and I limit myself to eating a slice a day. It helps to warm up each slice in microwave oven. I cannot buy such a nice rye in my local grocery store and so I am glad I can buy it on Amazon. Very trustworthy seller too! I will buy it again, for sure.
