Great little gadget and easy to set up
I read a lot of feedback on this product, particularly about how hard it is to set up. However I am quite comp savvy so decided to give it a go, at worst I can always send it back. Before it arrived (which was next day) I received an email stating that the company had made a video showing how to set it up. When the item arrived I looked up the video (which was blocked by windows) I just bypassed the block and watched the video. It was set up in 10 minutes and working fine.I also had an added difficulty as I wanted to use a WiFi hotspot for the WiFi and not my home WiFi. I have an old iPhone 5s which I used as the WiFi hotspot and everything worked fine using my own Android phone to set it up.I never even looked at the user manual just used the video to set up. One option to look out for, as the pack sensors are already linked to the sounder there is no need to add sensors as the video shows, I am sure it is there if you buy more sensors, then you will need to know how to do it, so just bypass the add sensors bit of the video on initial setup. Incidentally the reason for the hotspot is so I can use it remotely, I work in renovating houses and setting this up in the house using a power bank for the iPhone hotspot and to power the sounder gives me the opportunity to protect the empty house at night and stop thieves stealing my tools. Using the app I can override my do not disturb at night so I am notified of the alarm being set off.

ok while it worked, helpful customer support, unit replaced, happy again.
good points. (the t1 system) PLEASE READ THE UPDATES AT THE END, THANKS1) it comes with the accessories preinstalled so its working out of the box.2) its loud in the room it's installed and the light is bright.3) it's easy to add accessories and rename them.4) the 4 hour battery backup is handy if your power goes out.bad points.1) the uk power adapter is very poor quality and the power lead isn't long enough (approx 3 feet).2) arming and disarming is a loud "chirp" so you arent going to be able to go out or come in without waking everyone in the house if its mounted on the landing.3) the preinstalled sensors are labelled "sensor 1" etc so renaming them is pot luck unless you delete them and reinstall/rename them one at a time.4) the pir isn't "pet safe" so if you have a dog especially one who can open doors its going to trigger every time he wanders past (and if hes like mine that means you aren't going to sleep until you power the sensor off).5) whilst its supposed to be possible i've yet to find any way to select sensors to operate in home or away mode for zoning.UPDATE: within a week of the amazon return widow closing it just died (whilst armed) it wont reset, i've checked the psu and socket so its just dead as a dodo, will contact seller directly and see if they can help then update this review, as it stands the smartlife app just says its offline but even if the reset had worked i cant find a way to remove it from the app to reinstall it.update 2: well whilst it seems decent value paying £40-£60 quid for this works out at about £20-£30 a month for the 2 months it worked before it completely died, add to this cost the fact you need to purchase a waterproof housing for their "wonderful" doorbell (not waterproof) or the fact you cant change the ringtone so both back and front doorbell use the same sound and you'll likely come to the conclusion that its not worth buying this piece of junk.Update 3: after a lot of back and forth with the seller they were very helpful in trying to get it running but sadly failed and they have now replaced the unit and its now functioning as it should so i've increased my star rating once again, i'd like to thank the seller for all their help and assistance and can once more recommend this as a cheap basic alarm system.now if only they made their doorbell waterproof ;)

Easy to set up, great with Alexa.
This alarm set is super easy to set up, although I've not used the motion detection device yet. The door sensors are very easy to pair with the alarm and come with strong 3M sticky pads.I ignored the advice in the instructions and added the decide to my Smart Life account. I recommend you do this for all your smart devices. Because my Smart Life account was already connected to the Alexa skill the alarm immediately showed up in my Alexa app, which prompted me to set up a 4 digit code to arm/disarm the alarm via Alexa by voice. Arming and disarming via the app is also very easy, and I've set up an Alexa routine that turns my smart bulbs red and plays "Bad Guy" by Justin Bieber when the alarm is activated. 😉You can arm the alarm using "away" mode and "stay" mode, so you can just have certain sensors monitored when you're in (for example). I haven't set this up yet, though. As some reviews mention, the alarm itself isn't the loudest. It certainly isn't loud enough to wake up the whole neighbourhood, but I doubt this changes much as most people don't bother calling the police when a house alarm goes off anyway. Using this to get a notification so of an activation to your phone so you can check CCTV in real-time is probably far more useful, and on the loudest setting I guess it's still loud enough to scare any perpetrator and alert you as the home owner to their presence. It's certainly not the best alarm out there, but as a system I feel you get an awful lot of value for the amount it costs. The range seems to be good enough that I can have a sensor in my shed. There is already a battery alarm in there, but it'd be good if a shed break-in could activate the alarm in my house to alert me, too. I guess this could also work for a van on your driveway.

Impressive performance for the price
So far extremely impressed by how easy and comprehensive it is to set up this little alarm. I needed something to act as a deterrent in an out-building during a break-in rather than a loud outdoor siren to annoy the neighbours, and this ticked that box. The instructions aren't brilliantly translated, but it's easy enough to figure out. It's much smaller than you'd expect, but it's plenty loud enough, with other volume options. Remote works well, and the app lets you set automatic arm/disarm timings, which suits me perfectly.
