In general, this is a good feeder for larger aquariums since you cannot adjust the food amount. It dispenses well and works fine with most food types. However, as all other feeders I tried, it collects moisture in the bottom when hanging over the aquarium and thus results in a clogged, ugly and stinky unit. I guess it works for a few days until enough food sticks to the moisture in the bottom, covers the hole and makes it useless. Before my trip, I tried it first for a week to find a good distance, but when I cam back now, even hanging more then 3 inches above the water (with only a feeding hole) it clogged and was not dispensing anymore. Cleaning up is a mess since the food is a moldy paste... It seems there is not good feeder out there not suffering from this problem since I tried a few and they all have this issue sooner or later when you want to use them for longer trips.

had this feeder installed in October 2019 and it stopped dispensing food in by Christmas. The batteries had to be charged after a month even there were backup batteries. The feeding hole would become clogged almost every week. Totally waste of money.
