They work and the price is right
Simply put, they work really well and are half the price (or more) of the name-brand collars. I can't compare them to the more expensive brands because I have never used them, but they appear well made. I don't know how they will do long-term, but out of the packaging, they hold the bar really well, and I can't even shake them loose from dumbbell handles when I try under heavy load. The design uses 2 rubber pads that grip the bar and prevent it from moving. I would think that as long as the rubber doesn't harden or wear too much, these should last many years. I like them better than spring collars because the surface area of the rubber grasping the bar is much larger. These are a bit more expensive than spring collars, but not enough to worry about. As far as the metal collars that usually come with bars and have a single bolt holding them to the bar, ditch them as soon as possible so you don't kill yourself unless you are using them only for bars that will never be held at an angle or be dropped.

Good collar for the money.
I like using these when I'm deadlifting. It keeps my plates from moving around every time I put the weights down to reset. The collars are very lightweight plastic so it doesn't add any significant weight to your bars, although if you're into competing, you may prefer one with a set weight that you can calculate. The collars stays on through friction. Once you clamp down, the rubber portion inside the collar helps to hold the collar in place. I did have to knock down a star though as I noticed that after multiple uses, the rubber portion is slowly wearing down. If you're the only one using your weights, it should still last you for a while, but it doesn't seem like it would be a good choice for long term usage. I would recommend that you start checking your collars after a few months of use.

You want this. No, you NEED this
This may be a cheaper version of a more well known brand, Lock-Jaw. I own both and honestly I could tell no difference. I don't know if one copied from the other or if they both are made by same manufacturer. Either way, I recommend both. What did I do before these? That's all that needs to be said about these. These are worth every penny. When in the middle of a workout I like to stay focused and not worry about the extra time and hassle it takes to use the cheaper, screw down collars the springy type collars. Those are both very annoying. These locking collars are so simple and quick to use. I wish they'd be invented years ago.As for the quality of these, they feel extremely secure when locked down. I have no problem or fear of loading up the bar with 405lb+ using these collars. I have never felt like they would come off.

Purchasing these Heavy Duty Plastic Olympic Collars was "NO SWEAT!!"
I am ecstatic over these 2" Pair Black Heavy Duty Plastic Olympic Collars which I received in very good order! I lift weights regularly in my home gym several times a week. I was at a cross roads as to whether or not to buy heavier hexagonal weights or purchase Olympic Dumbbell Handles and purchase the 2" Pair Black Heavy Duty Plastic Olympic Collars to secure higher weight plates. Turns out buying the Heavy Duty Plastic Collars. along with a Pair of Olympic Dumbbell Handles was the way to go! Now I can lift heavier AND SAFELY with these! Plus, I SAVED a lot of money not having to buy the hexagonal weights. Even at my Local Walmart buying 40lb.-50lbs Dumbbells is very, very expensive. In fact, I LOVED the collars so much, that I actually purchased a another set of 2 Collars for my gym. Now I'll have 8 Collars!! Thank you, Amazon.com and Mesha007 for a great product!

Just about as good as it gets
These collars are wonderful. They hold tightly to the bar and very seldom slip a fraction of an inch on deadlifts. I work out in a crowded gym so it is often hard to find two safety clips. Not to mention most clips are deformed and usually offer only frustration. These lock on and off effortlessly whend needed. They have not clipped during any lift, even when I drop the bar from a failed deadlift height. I absolutely love these and should something happen to them I will purchase another pair.My only wish would be if they weighed 1.25lbs each for micro loading.

These collars are great and I highly recommend them
These collars are great and I highly recommend them. They stay on snug and will not fall off. They look great and is easy to put on.The only con is that it may take a very small amount of effort to get the collars "unlocked." When locked in place, it looks like the collars have two settings. The first setting keeps the collars on the bar and doesn't appear to slide off. The second setting snaps the collar on to the bar and firmly keeps the collars in place. This is not a big deal, but you're probably not going to be able to unlock the collars with just one hand.

great product
I gotta say for the cheap price I got them for they work excellent so far I've only had them for about 2weeks now but have been loyal to me so far. I will update this review if I have to. Haven't put too much weight on them yet. I've been doing 40lb hammer curls with them and no slip yet will try 70lb and see where that goes. I'll keep you guys posted. Wish me luck lol updating my review now. It has been almost a year since I've purchased this product and I must say its still holding up.

Almost perfect
The clips are not bad but they do slip, so what I did was put a little rubber cement glue on the contacts and it tightened them up.
