Great for vegan eggs and BAKING!!
I use this in my vegan fried eggs. The recipe link is provided below. Vegan egg salad, and all of my baked goods in place of the salt in the recipe. It is an amazing egg flavor. Someone suggested replacing it with salt recommended in baking to add that egg flavor... and it's amazing in that too!!Fried Egg Recipe: http://mouthwateringvegan.com/2013/04/27/the-perfect-vegan-fried-egg-sunny-side-up/I ordered another packet of black salt, but not this brand. I wanted a bigger package. Would definitely recommend this and any black salt to vegans out there! It's amazing !!!!

Only buy if you don't have a middle eastern grocery in your area.
So the product itself is great. I use it in my tofu scramble and it really brings out that eggy sulfar taste. My beef is the price. I happened to walk into a middle eastern grocery store and this exact product sold for $.90. So your paying over $4 just to get this online. Not worth it unless you don't have an ethnic grocery in your area.

Perfect for tofu scramble- tastes just like egg!!!
The media could not be loaded. Save baby male chics- eat tofu scramble with this.If you eat the salt alone it has a earthy taste. It tastes exactly like a hard boiled egg smells. It is so good!!!Google how easy a tofu scramble is!Might be fun to use on many things! Good quality and pink in color.

Add the taste of egg
I bought this after reading about it in a vegan cooking article. With it crushed up finely enough to use it is not actually Black anymore, more of a grayish. I didn't buy it as a finishing salt so I could care less. The significant factor with this salt is the taste it adds to a food. If you are a vegan or you want to experiment around with flavors this will add a slight egg flavor to a dish when added. There is of course a limit - it is not going to taste just like you ate an egg yolk but it will give the impression that there is egg added into your recipe. For the vegans, when making your vegan mayonnaise a touch of this will add the depth of flavor that is missing. That is what I bought it to try out and it works wonderfully.

This really really really taste like hard boiled eggs
Just got this in the mail today and I am so impressed I can't stand it. Well, you know what I mean. This really really really taste like hard boiled eggs. I just tasted it right out the bag and it blew me away. It doesn't smell bad. I was expecting it to taste somewhat like eggs and smell like sulfur. Surprise surprise surprise! This is going to make my scrambled tofu, scrambled eggs.Yum

Very good quality black salt
The DEEP brand produces a very good quality black salt. The salt has a great taste. This is my first time trying this brand and I am pleased with the quality. The salt was very fine in consistency which paired well in mixtures (i.e. sauces, curries, etc.) Due to the nutritional properties of Indian black salt, I was very eager to try it in my cooking. Most recently, I have used the black salt in tofu scrambles and other vegan recipes that needed that essence of “egg” in the dish for the added flavor and aroma. The black salt also worked really well in a vegan egg salad that I prepared. It has a distinct flavor that is very unique so is perfect for certain dishes. It is a welcomed addition to my spice rack and inspires me to get creative with recipes that will benefit from the unique flavor. The only thing that I suggest that would improve the product, is if the packaging was re-sealable or closable in some way to preserve the freshness and pungency of the product. However, I just ended up pouring the contents into a sealable glass container which I keep in the spice cupboard and use as needed in recipes. It is also versatile and goes well in several dishes that I have prepared. Overall, this is a good product and a must have in your spice cabinet. It is an acquired taste but, one that you will enjoy experimenting with to enhance dishes with added flavor.

Salt with a twist, taste besides salty
A friend gave me a 5 (maybe 6) salt trial bundle for my birthday awhile back. They were pretty, pink, white, black, chunky, fine, but all pretty much tasted like, well, salt. Except for this one.Had a strange name, and thanks to internet search, found out it was called Himalayan Black Salt (but it's pink?!?).It has a sulphur smell to it, so I was originally put off by that, and didn't try it. Finally one day, I thought, OK, let me sprinkle a little on my eggs. Next thing I knew, it was the first one of the bunch gone (still have some of all the others so you know).I need to buy some more of this, so I did.Turns out, 3.5 Oz. is a lot of powdered salt. Been using it for a few months, and I have gone through maybe, 1/8 or tad more of it. And I pretty much use it for breakfast things only, because that's the way I roll.I sort of wish it wasn't so finely powdered, maybe just a tad corser would be nice, but that is more a first world problem I think. You do have be careful, it can over salt things, pretty easy. I don't know if that is just this salt (can a salt be saltier than salt?) or the fact of it's powder texture?

Vegan staple item. This little gem makes anything that needs that "real egg" taste, simply delicious. I mainly use it tofu scrambles, but I have recipes for deviled eggs that I can't wait to try now. Soak some firm pressed tofu in a solution of this, then chop up and add to potato salad! The serious vegan cook needs to keep some of this in the spice cabinet.

Definitely not India’s Best
Really small package. The package was open and crudely put back together. To be honest I wasn’t sure if I should take it to the police officer o open it up. I really didn’t see or read what was in the package

Tastes better then it smells.
Wow! This does taste like egg. I prefer this over a real egg any day.
