Country Punk Live At Fillmore DVD/CD pretty awesome
Country PunkRockabillyPsychobillyHowling Wolf meets Black Sabbath (see/hear Jim Heaths influences on DVD interviews between songs). The REVEREND HORTON HEAT plays guitar sharp and fast giving this underrated rockabilly genre a well deserved lift with originality to play straightforward country (listen to closing credit song) for a calm change of pace. The drummer for this 25 TO LIFE 3 disc collection is Paul Simmons who must be as good if not better than predecessor Scott Churilla. Jimbo Wallace is on the cool stand up base.I didn’t know jack diddly about REV HORTON HEAT until Dec 6 2017 when I went to see The Blasters Live In Cleveland (who I have seen before and Really like) be 1 of 2 (Junior Brown the other—pretty good too) ‘open’ for the headliner HORTON HEAT.Well, the Holiday themed rockabilly country rocking show forced me to buy The Christmas album We Three Kings as well as Rev (2014) —and, now, 25 TO LIFE Live At The Fillmore. The concert DVD is 20 songs from the famed San Fran venue in 2010. Without interviews the music alone is 75 minutes. Add on 15 minutes, at most, with interviews included. The CD of same Fillmore 2010 show is 4 songs and 16 minutes Shorter. Just under 1 hour. The 3rd disc The Best of The REVEREND covers 23 songs from 8 albums with the 1994 album Liquor In The Front represented the most (5 songs). Revival is represented by same 2 songs on The Fillmore Live DVD (Indigo Friends; and Callin In Twisted).I just ordered Revival album too. Had to have more songs I haven’t heard before. The REVEREND HORTON HEAT is extremely entertaining, fast paced, cool, unpretentious fun.25 years in the making and going ‘cult status’ strong (first album recorded in 1990 — Smok’em If You Got’em).4.6 stars. I will see these guys Live, again, without hesitation.

RHH returns to DVD
The wait is finally over. There are many similarities to the Rev's 2002 DVD since it was filmed by the same folks.I am not set up for surround sound so I preferred the higher frequencies of the second "stereo" audio channel. (same with their first dvd)Other than us all being a little older, the most noticeable difference here is Paul Simmons (former Legendary Shack Shakers) on Drums instead of Scott Churilla, who rejoined in March.Paul's extended drum solo was excellently lit/filmed... this dvd is a fine documentation of his time with the band.I'll admit to leaving the "best of" CD in the box since I already own the albums. The Rev has refined many of his songs and guitar sound in the past decade.Because of this, this is one that I would not hesitate to show those who may be skittish about the band's "punk" elements. (which are still plenty intact, thankfully)Many of us Rev fans have grown complacent, taking such great talent for granted, but I am not at all sorry for purchasing this one... and can honestly say that it exceeded my expectations.Sure, there are other great bands out there - but EVERYBODY remembers the first time they saw Reverend Horton Heat.

Been waiting for this
I've seen RevHo live 7 times. I've been waiting for this release for a very long time. As with any live performance, there are a few songs I would have liked to hear but that's always going to be the case. I really like the booklet and find it fun to flip through. I also like the way the concert DVD/interview segments are put together with the interviews mixed in between the songs (and we had a Lemmy sighting!). If one isn't familiar with The Reverend, it's a great starting point as the song choices do span his career quite well.

Tickling, it is ok, watched it once.
I like some of Horton's music. One of his CD is my favorite music in my collection, I used to think if his music as a cross between Buddy holly, Elvis Presley and a touch of Jimmy Page. This one is tickleling informative, and ok, but ready to pass it on. Anybody want mine, played dvd once. $10. testo is the name. AT the cableone carrier with the dot fishnet. I enjoyed it, very lengthy which is nice. I thought I could play it a cd player such as your car for road trips. DVDs only. ready to pass it on,

25 to Life
The DVD shows not only the talent of the musicians, but brings out their personalities as well. I love the way that each of them connects with the audience, and I enjoyed the stories of how they got to where they are today. I have to wonder why you never hear them played on the radio, at least not where I live. You can't go wrong with the purchase of this boxed set.
