Premium USB to Serial DB9/DB25 Adapter Cable, FTDI, 6 Ft for PC, Mac and Linux

This item was perfect for what I needed. It also provided the 25 to 9 pin adapter at a similar price to other cables without it. Great quality and super price. I use this with a Raspberry Pi to simulate a modem connection over IP. I can setup an old BBS on an original IBM PC and let people access it from the Internet.

This product has the FDTI chipset and it works great! I use it to interface between a amateur radio transceiver with an RS232 output to a newer computer (without the RS232 input). It works great for this purpose. There's another chipset USP adapter that does NOT work for this purpose and it's actually more commonly available.

The price was good and the plug has worked well so far. Build quality appears sturdy and the extra long cord is very handy. Haven't loaded the linux or mac drivers yet, but the PC drivers worked well for Windows XP 32 bit.
