Woodland Happy Families is a charming variation of the classic children's card game and is a classic 'set collecting' card game. The aim is to collect complete sets (families) by requesting cards from the other players. A player either receives or gives a card on each turn. The winner is the person who collects the most sets. The cards in this set feature beautiful colour illustrations of lots of favourite woodland creatures.

Back to my Childhood!
I had these cards as a child in England and loved them. I waited until my younger grandchildren were old enough not to tear them to pieces and found them on the US Amazon instead of having to send them from the UK. They really are happy family cards! Delivery was swift and they arrived in very good time.

!
I played this game when I was a child and loved the pictures. When my children were small we played with the same cards, then rather worn, and they loved the pictures too. As the cards had long since worn out I was lucky to find this game with the original illustrations and now my grandchildren are enjoying the game and the pictures too

Beautiful quality cards with attractive pictures
Beautiful quality cards with attractive pictures, good for younger ones as only the names are on the cards eg Miss Robin rather than Miss Robin the Baker's daughter. Easier if you're only just starting to read.

Childhood favourite
I have an identical pack from my childhood and I am 78 so they are old and my grandson loves them so when I saw these I could not resist. They are lovely pictures and a nice quiet game to play

Very sexist cards
We bought these as we wanted to avoid traditional Happy Families where the whole family is based around the man's profession -- it really doesn't represent the world that our children are growing up in. We thought that cards where each family was an animal species would be much more engaging for the children. The problem is that in the pictures, the female adult is almost always doing housework! And the male adult is normally either working or enjoying himself.

Lovely colorful game
I loved this game as a child & my Gran still has an old 80s/90s versión which is exactly the same much to our delight! I’ve been teaching the next generation the lovely game

Nice cards with lovely drawings but smaller families than I am used to
Nice cards with lovely drawings but smaller families than I am used to. The ones I’m used to play have 6 cards per family, this one only has 4. We’ve had fun playing it though.

Quite different styles
Pictures are quite different from most you would buy today being what I would call 'old style'. I must say they do remind me of Beatrix Potter, however this would not be unusual due to the success of characterised animals.

My grand daughter loves this and so do I. I used to play with an identical set when I was a child, over 60 years ago. It hasn't lost its charm

Woodland Happy families
This was a favourite game during my childhood; then I played it with my sons, and now my grandchildren. It is a beautifully illustrated version of the game, and a fun way to learn the names of British animals. It is particularly good for teaching manners! It helps improve your memory, and helps small people with their early reading. This time I bought it as a gift for a friend who also has grandchildren!
