***PLEASE CHECK REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO PURCHASE*** ***USB-C PD CHARGER REQUIREMENTS*** Surface Go: 30W PD (15V/2A) or 45W PD (15V/3A) (29W is ok ONLY if it supports 15V output) Surface Pro 3/4/5/6: 45W PD (15V/3A) or greater Surface Laptop: 45W PD (15V/3A) or greater Surface Book 1: 45W PD (15V/3A) or greater CHARGERS UNDER 29W (i.e. 18W, 24W, etc) WILL NOT WORK. If your USB-C charger came with your phone or iPad, IT WILL NOT WORK. MOST APPLE USB-C CHARGERS WILL NOT WORK BECAUSE MOST MODELS DO NOT SUPPORT 15V OUTPUT As a reference, check your original charger's power output. If your original Surface charger is 36W or 44W, then you will need a 45W PD (15V/3A) power source. You may experience insufficient power if your USB-C power source is not equal to or greater than your original charger. OVERVIEW 15V/3A Power Delivery (PD) output is REQUIRED for the USB-C power supply. Double-check your charger to ensure that "15V/3A" is listed in the specifications.

Make sure you have a 45W plug!
This cable is great to thin down my collection of travel cables, but make sure you have a 45W USB C plug, like one made for a Macbook or other USB-C computer. Phone charger plugs, even with USB-C, don't have enough power to charge a hungry Surface Pro! With a 60W charger I picked up, this cable charges my Surface Pro 6 _slightly_ faster than the stock charger.

Works well with variety of 15V/3amp adaptors
I've been using it for the past few weeks with power adaptors made by Anker, Ronly and Kabcon (all are15 Volt, 3 amp). This cable works well with all of them. Charging rate on Surface Pro 6 is identical to the originally supplied Microsoft Power Adaptor

6 months in.. still working without issue
I've been using this for 6 months now with both a Surface Pro 3 and Surface Pro 6, and so far it is working without issue. Make sure you use a USB-PD charger or power bank that outputs 15V, as not all do.The reason this is rated 4-stars is that you have to orient it just right. At the Surface Pro, it must be oriented so the cable goes up, and at the USB-PD power source, you sometimes have to flip the plug 180 degrees. Ideally, since both the Surface Connect and USB-C are reversible, it should work regardless of orientation on either side.

Worked for me with RAVPower 61w usb-c charger
Worked for my Surface Pro 2017 (aka Surface Pro 5). I bought a used Surface Pro that didn't come with a charger. I had a usb-c charger already so this was a great, and less-expensive solution for me. Working great so far.
