Sealproof Unreinforced PVC Clear Vinyl Tubing, Food Grade, 1/2-Inch ID x 5/8-Inch OD, 100 FT, Made in USA

I wanted to use this to transfer water from our R.O. System to a holding container. It is supposed to be food grade.However, the water absorbs a distinct bad plastic taste from the tubing. I have to wonder if it is food grade; there are not markings on the tubing to confirm. Other than that, the dimensions, delivery etc were all good. I just can't see this being a good choice for food or beverage use.

I am happy with the product itself, but not with the effort that went into packaging it. The "Sealproof Unreinforced PVC Clear Vinyl Tubing, Food Grade, 1/2-Inch ID x 5/8-Inch OD, 10 FT," is just what I was looking for. Unfortunately it seems (my guess) that in coiling it to place it into the plastic bag the tubing was kinked. So effectively my 10' of tubing is of little value as a 10 foot piece. I will certainly salvage the remaining, unkinked sections. But I bought a 10 foot section for a reason. I am confident it was not kinked in shipping since the bend is located at the inner end of the coil, at the point that the coiling effort was initiated. My guess is that it was kinked where is was gripped by whomever stuffed it into the plastic bag. At any rate, a disappointment.

Due to the way the product was stored, it became kinked and collapsed in many areas. As I opened the package I saw the condition and realized that my centrifuged pumps would never be able to push water through the kinked/collapsed areas of the tubing. The tubing was returned for a full refund because it was completely unusable.

I have not gotten to set this up yet as I would like. This fits the pump but that is all I have been able to test. There is a relatively strong smell right out of the package and there was a slight sticky feel... plan to wash it before use for sure.I was a little frustrated with the packaging as the tubing was wound so tight there are some kinks but this is what I prepped for and wanted longer tube to work with as I have not fully fleshed out my set up and it may need to extend a few feed from aquarium to plants. Basically I knew this could be an issue in buying tubing and I suggest you possibly account for this.I will come back and review after set up.

Nice tubing. I am not using it for liquid though. I am using it to prevent two pieces from rubbing. An aluminum 1/2" rod rubs against an aluminum tube and would cause the aluminum tube to fail eventually. This plastic tubing will prevent the rubbing. I certainly would use it for liquids should the need arise. This tubing seems quite tough. Resistance to cutting is very good. Glad I have some left over. It will come in handy eventually.

Not round ! Flat tubing as my picture shows. I'm unable to reshape round using hot water to no avail. Poor quality tubing and not clear. Blueish tint with lines throughout. No lettering, markings, size, made ? whatsoever ! No Country of origin. Looks more like a defective product. Not Food grade based by the smell. I will not buy again. Not sure what to use it for !! I do not recommend.

Just how it was described. Worth it. Put in boiling water for a couple minutes. Then be careful when removing from hot water. Immediately stretch and as you stretch add cold water to it. Then it should be as straight as possible. It is kind of stiff when it come in your package. 🤑
