Worthless
== UPDATE ==Gave this book the benefit of the doubt at first, but just dropped it to 1 star. And changed title from "Almost Worthless" to "Worthless"Take a look at the author description on the back of the book, the kid that wrote this has "over four years' experience". Yeah, wish I had seen that before I bought this and tried to make sense of the awful thing.Do yourself a favor - run thru the w3schools.com tutorial instead and save yourself some money.== ORIGINAL REVIEW ==This book is out of date. None of the nodejs commands work completely anymore, or they simply do not work at all. This book seems to be IDE agnostic, it uses nodejs (which is complicated to begin with if you are a newbie) and then just runs thru steps to configure it which do not work and are not explained in any detail that might allow you to troubleshoot on your own.I have yet to find a decent angularjs book that gets you started from scratch, and web tutorials for this kind of "soup to nuts" development are equally awful (I know, shocker).I just walked thru the first chapter and have already had to do web searches to resolve errors in the book - and it still won't run the test cases. I don't expect a book to be perfect and up-to-date, and neither should the author - the book should provide a foundation for the reader so that they *understand what is going on* so that they can resolve these types of issues. Here is a tip for future authors. Pick a development environment! Don't use up pages to explain SE concepts (like MVC); that is worthless and *that* is better left to pointing us to a web page. Use that space to define the development environment, how to configure it and the basic steps for running tasks - like testing, running the app, deploying, etc. Do this in Chapter 1 (or an Intro) and then move on to the code.I already see where this is going, if the basics in Chapter 1 don't work how can I expect to actually make use of what is to follow?

I like the conciseness of it (you can finish it in ...
Admittedly, I didn't come to this book as an AngularJS novice and when I finished it I wouldn't call myself a ninja ("expert"), but I did noticeable increase my Angular skills reading this book. I like the conciseness of it (you can finish it in under a week), the writing style is clear, and the examples provided are to-the-point.

I really wanted to like this book more.
OK - I wanted to love this book. I have been using Angular for a while now. Angular is a great toolkit for building single page applications. Thumbing through the TOC of the book, it looks like there is a good set of introductory materials, as well delving into more advanced topics. Building Angular apps that interact with REST is one of the more common uses which is poorly covered.I have to agree with other reviewers that the book suffers from a lack of both technical and copy editing. It's not like Sitepoint to put out a book his poor, but there you have it. I found the errors and style extremely distracting and I am unable to finish it.

A good beginners guide for angularJS (Who knows Javascript, html and basic web concepts well )
It's not perfect and not a comprehensive reference for AngularJS, but just by reading the book, I was able to quickly pick up on the framework. I used other online references and documents along with it. There are a lot of room for improvement, but its a good book for starters. There are a lot of reviewers who are quick enough to just give a bad review to a book, cos its the easiest thing to do, but to all fairness, the book is a good starting point for beginners.

Out of date already!
This book is less then a year old and it's already out of date, examples don't work, and the GitHub repo isn't much help either. You have to basically write all of the examples from scratch yourself and double check syntax with the official docs. I think that says a lot about Angular.JS itself if you are trying to write a production website, but it sad that the book isn't actively updated like so many other EBooks.About, the EBook part... the Kindle addition has already been pulled from Amazon, which suck for users like me that purchased it on Amazon as we will likely never get an update even if the author/publisher update the material.

Directives chapter could be longer
Very useful book. Really enjoyed the reading. The directives chapter could be longer because it's a very important and probably the most difficult part of AngularJS
