Don’t waste your money!
I’m not at all happy with the fit of this device on the flash head. It is an extremely tight fit and the only way I could get it mounted was to heat the plastic with a hairdryer to make the plastic more pliable. Even then it was a struggle and the rubber on the side of the flash head was destroyed by the extender.

Major design flaw, material is very hard to fit over flash.
This unit appears to work good on the flash but there is a design flaw, it takes to much pressure to put the flash. If you apply to much pressure you take the chance of breaking your $500 flash using a $60 cover. I recommend they go back to the drawing board and soften the cover end to fit over the flash with less pressure.

Doesn't work
Although it was listed for a canon 600 series, it didn't fit.

The product was easy to use
My expectation was that I would have more wide angle and distant flash coverage using this product. The product was easy to use, but I think it missed the mark on how photographers need this product to work. I gave it a 2 based on my expectations, but maybe my expectations were wrong for this product.I use the Canon 600 EX-Rt flashes which are excellent in everyway. Maybe I expect something that isnt out there. In that case, you could call this a five.

There are pros and cons between this and the Better Beamer. Both are great products
I just received this. It's excellent. It is the main competition for the Better Beamer, and each has an advantage and disadvantage. I have used both and will write a comparison below so you can have an informed buying decision. The Harbor Digital extender is a slide-on unit. It is bulky and does not pack well. It's about the width of two fists put together, and the length is about the same. It is about as light as the Better Beamer but really is larger than the picture makes it look. It also seems to provide a more uniform flash across the frame, where the Better Beamer kind of had fresnel lens refraction artifacts in the light that was cast at the distance. There is a problem with the more uniform beam: the Better Beamer actually produces a tighter area of light that is brighter than the Harbor Digital for the same flash zoom settings (i.e. 35mm, 50mm, etc.) I think that is because the harbor digital has a first stage diffuser to soften the light before it reaches the fresnel lens. It is noticeable, however, but there is a difference. That is possibly why wildlife photographers prefer the Better Beamer. I also wouldn't try packing the Harbor Digital into the field. It is too bulky. The Better Beamer is priced more affordable. It collapses down extremely conveniently, which is why so many professional nature photographers use it. It can be brought into and out of the field with little effort, and there is a huge premium on that mobility with the accessory. It suffers from a certain degree of droop and works best when a flash arm is attached so the droop can be compensated for. A flash arm will help guarantee that any droop is eliminated. It does take a little more time to set up than the Harbor Digital and there is a risk of burning holes in equipment, but those problems are easily avoided.Either one is great, you just have to evaluate your application and decide if you want mobility or slightly more even light across the frame. I would not use the Harbor Digital for nature photography, but rather use the Better Beamer. And I think the Harbor Digital is better for fill flash in sports than the Better Beamer is.

Better than the Beamer
I've had a Better Beamer for years, but I rarely use it - it's too fiddly to set up, and in high winds it's a pain to use. So I never used it. Enter the Harbor Digital flash extender. It's a neat little box and just slides on to your flash. It's a bit more spendy than the BB, but well worth it. Not nearly as compact as the BB when broken down, but what you lose in storage space is more than made up for in performance. Highly recommended.
