Unbelievably fabulous and incredibly funny!!!!!
This book had me laughing out loud - on the bus, in the park - I though people would think me nuts! Joan Rivers is the funniest comedian out there. I've recommended this book to EVERYONE I know, who needs a "pick me up." Written in diary form, it's easy to "dip in and out of," perfect for even just 15 minute laugh. If you already LOVE Joan Rivers (as I always have), you will not be disappointed. And if your unfamiliar with her - where have you been? You too will LOVE this book.

I loved Joan Rivers
Joan Rivers was the most intelligent person I ever met.I first met her in 1984 through a friend wen she performed at the Concord Hotel.I saw her in concert in Maryland , Washington D.C. and in New York.I was fortunate to meet her back stage 2 years ago at Stathmore Hall. She was always gracious to her fans and took time to autograph her book and to have a photo taken with a fan.The last time I saw Joan, she did a book talk about diary of a Mad Diva at the 6Th & I street Synagogue in Washington D.C. onJuly 3, 2015. She looked beautiful and answered questions from the audience.at the end of her talk she said..."If you want to go on a trip, to the theater, and no one would go with you, go by yourself!"her message was "Do it Now".To me her voice did not sound "raspy" and she was wonderful talking to fans like myself.as she left the stage, she noticed I was wearing jewelry and a beautiful outfit from her QVC line. She took a moment to shake my hand and give me a hug.I found Joan to be quiet and shy off stage. On stage she was wonderful.I was devasted to hear she had died 2 months after I had seen her.I really miss her so much!

Master Piece of Republican Comedy
Interesting facts about this book:1. She promotes to be solution oriented person, for example when she teaches how to see the bright side on a serial killer. )Like Ted Bundy=.2. Joan and Donald Trump seems to be twins separated at birth. Her republican jokes goes perfectly sincronized with the America Trump is promoting.3. Her philantropic interests on how citizens like Paris Hilton could advocate for Veneral Diseases.4. Her insights on the importance of proctologists in society, wowo she's wonder woman.Basicly she mokes herself and other, as usual in comedy, however, she's sharp like a shark, and nothing gets in her way when it comes to havefun and making other to have it. Weather it is moking the recipients of social welfare programs or her deep homage to mental health issues on others, from OCD, dementia, multiple personality disorder, etc. When you read her book you will get to think she's an awful human being, nonetheless, this is a woman who has a degree on linguistics and easy to tell by her sharp, quick remarks also on grammar and her passion for general culture. This book should be consider as the Republican Guide to moke society and anti oppresive pratices. It is also a very honest and open tale of a woman's inner crap, which relays in all us.

Fabulous as Always
Although I purchased this book long ago, I had a hard time bringing myself to read it. As a huge fan FijIan Rivers, I had a hard time saying goodbye. However, now that the months have passed, I finally decided it was time to read "Diary of a Mad Diva," and I was not disappointed. Joan is incredibly funny, and you have to understand that this is a book of humor. In case you do forget, she reminds you. Joan also lets you know at the halfway point that it's too late to return the book, but I don't know why anyone would want to. I was laughing my head off the entire time. Joan doesn't have to try to be funny. She just is. I've watched her for years, and the book is much like any one of her comedic monologues, the jokes completely natural. If you're looking for a serious read, a memoir, or details on Joan's life, you won't get them here. Instead, you'll receive a humorous interpretation of Joan's 80th year, and what. I believe to be a celebration of her life. I miss you, Joan. T g banks for this final gift. I think I finally have closure and can say goodbye.

Simply NOT Funny
We only made it a third of the way through this "diary" because it's simply NOT funny - seems more mean spirited and bitchy without a coating of Joan's usual clever humor. The musings here come across as complaints from an unhappy old woman rather than interesting insights from a comedy legend. Too bad but don't bother investing in this one.

great
I had a lot of fun reading Joan Rivers' "Diary Of A Mad Diva," because I like Joan Rivers and her humour. Her comedy has always been irreverent, and this book clearly represents her brand. Nothing and no one is spared, even Anne Frank and Heller Keller. Yes, I know making fun of those two can be really bad taste, but sometimes we just need to laugh at everything and not take things too seriously. In all fairness, she would be the first one to laugh at herself and poke at her worst traits: her numerous plastic surgeries, for example. I do understand how some people may dislike this book, though. If you think Joan is not funny, then I can't even fathom why you would read this book. But if you have liked her, as I have, then there's plenty of things to enjoy here. You go with your bad self, Joan!

It was not funny, just bordering on slutty
I stopped reading it before I got very far into the book. It was not funny , just bordering on slutty, language & situations that were supposed to make you laugh. That’s not entertainment.

Without doubt the funniest book I have ever read. No-one in Hollywood, or anywhere else for that matter, escapes Joan's razor wit. I had to keep wiping my eyes and taking deep breaths, but I got through it, overdosing on the endorphins it caused in me! No wonder she had a team of lawyers checking everything she wrote.

FUNNY, FUNNY BOOK.
At times this book is laugh out loud hilarious, other times I gasped at some of the things she said. There are certain things I don't find funny--ever--like the Holocaust, But that's Joan Rivers. No holds barred; she's an equal opportunity offender. It's a quick read & I laughed out loud many times. Not for the squeamish or politically correct.

Not Really Funny.
To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I expected something really funny, but it wasn't. Maybe if I was an American I would have enjoyed it more, as I hadn't heard of most of the celebrities mentioned.

I dare you.
A very cheeky read but always remembering that this late great woman had a sense of humour like few others. Read it as it was meant to be read, tongue in cheek.Clever, clever, clever and particularly poignant as JR makes reference to her plans for 2014.

So Joan.
This book is just like Joan was sitting down in front of you telling you these stories herself. Her voice comes through in every line so much so that it's hard to believe she is no longer with us. My only complaint? It's just too short.

Not for reading in the library - you'd be laughing out loud!
Very entertaining. (What a loss Joan is to comedy.) There are threads going through her diary and some of the wit had me laughing out loud. Excellent.
