I had a slight issue with this kit and reached out to Intergalactic. They were VERY fast to assure me that there, indeed, appeared to be a problem and sent me another kit. It is growing beautifully. The little pink mushrooms appeared almost like magic in a day or two. I am having trouble keeping it moist with my indoor heat and will put it in a propagation test with a cover to control the humidity better. I am quite pleased with this kit and the company. Will definitely do business with them, again. 😊

Great results for my first mushroom growing experience. I had read the reviews of these kits and it seemed like results were mixed, but I'm glad I understood that it's a living science and decided to take a chance. Having never been a gardener, either, I gained a real measure of satisfaction through nurturing these little fungi to our dinner table.Like I said, this was my first growing experience, so -- right or wrong -- here are my observations.I followed all directions to the letter in starting the kit (easy peasy) and I diligently kept them misted. By day 5, I could see so many little mushroom pins popping up that they didn't all fit in the box viewing window. That's when I decided to cut away the box, make some more punctures in the plastic wrap, and let the crop boom as much as it wanted to. Again, I stepped up the misting. I don't know if that means I have no chance at a second crop (am re-hydrating the medium as I write this), but the initial yield was more than I expected. By day 7 we had nice caps forming, and on day 9 I harvested...I hope that wasn't too early but they seemed ready.Dinner was delicious. Who could ask for anything more?

After following the instructions quite faithfully, all I grew was mold. Very disappointing.Update: Intergalactic sent me a new kit shortly after I posted this. I'm adding stars for excellent customer service. I'll update again once it starts growing.Update: The new kit is growing beautifully. I was sent instructions that were a bit different from the ones on the package. Make sure you cut into the substrate when you cut open the plastic. Only soak for 4 hours initially. These modifications seemed to do the trick for me. Next I'll try growing another batch from the other side of the kit. I'll update if I get a second harvest.

I received this kit on the afternoon of 8/15/2019. I cut the box and plastic immediately and set the block to soak for 5 hours. I was sure to water regularly and the pics show you what I saw in the morning beginning on 8/19/2019.....just 4 days!! The following pictures are 08/19 thru 08/22/2019. I can't believe today is day 7 and we are nearly at the harvest point!This kit is sooooo easy and fun to watch from day to day.....once the mushrooms really got started, you could see a difference between each meal of the day! This is one of the coolest things I have done in a while.I don't think this could have been made any easier. Excited to taste them soon. I hope everyone has just as easy of a time and a big harvest.

I purchased this for my besty who is in culinary. They did not grow for her. In the shrooms defense, I have seen them grow from others. Maybe my besty wasnt attentive.

When I received this kit the first thing I noticed is that the block was not fully colonized. I left it alone for a few days so that it could grow up a bit more before I started. As I started the process I noticed what I thought was mold in the sealed package, and just hoped that I was wrong. Three days into the fruiting run, and it's mostly green, black, and white mold. This is a huge bummer as I can see parts of the block are pink and even looked like mini pins of the pink oysters were starting to come out but at this point the mold has taken over.I saw other customers state there is a 30 day guarantee. I'm going to look into this and see if I can't get a replacement....

So so much better than back to the roots brand. Their brand was old and moldy while here intergalactic mushrooms were fresh and alive and grew almost instantly. Don’t cut the X to big and spray often and heavy. Grows better in a humid environment maybe a humidifier in a dry climate would help. Sunlight affects color more light equals more rich color. You can set it upright or leave it lying on its back for different growth directions just makes them looks different. Also note airflow = bigger caps. If you put them n a cabinet or somewhere with no air circulation you get thin skinny shrooms with slight caps :-(. So put them in open air. Beautiful

I've grown just about a half dozen types of oyster mushrooms from spore, liquid culture and grow kits. This is the first time I've ever had contaminates. The pink oyster kit came and didn't look fully colonized as you would usually see slightly pink mycelium and I thought about waiting a bit before cutting the bag and soaking but thought, they wouldn't send a bag unless it was ready to go. So I cut and soaked it like I've done a few dozen times before, in distilled water and set it in my martha tent where all my other mushrooms thrive. About a week later, nothing except green mold. I had the temp dialed in, the humidity right around 90 so I know it wasn't me. I'd appreciate if you could send me a FULLY colonized and ready to fruit bag to make up for this. I simply want to collect and clone different strains of pink oyster and this did nothing but potentially contaminate the rest of my grow.Update: the company kindly refunded me and the problem was likely heat during shipping.
