The Healing Choice: How to Move Beyond Betrayal

Very good read. I would have liked to have more of the book specific to the healing of a sex addict's partner's story (2nd half of book) than the experience of a dying mother (1st half of book). I understand & appreciate the important parallels, but felt at times the correlations could be drawn more clearly to bring it all more closely applicable to a grieving partner of a sex addict. I wish the 2nd half's practical topic was longer than the 1st half's topic.

Had to put this book away because it did not catch me. I thought it was written in a popular way that did not touch the core of what I myself understand as to be healed by the power of God. An average book that I will not recommend to anyone.I have been very excited about "Every Man's Battle" and the New Life Live radio that I listen to every day, so a part of the problem might have been that I was TOO excited about the book and then felt very dissatisfied afterward.I will be starting "Healing as a choice" soon and I hope that it's going to be different from this book

Met Expectations

I believe we need to know that we aren't alone in any of this...this is the beginningof healing. We can walk alongside those that have their own stories and see thatthere is hope and more importantly, that God is the author of that hope.

This book if very thought-provoking and helpful in healing from hurt. I found the second part, written by Susan Allen exceptional.

It's was mostly about her pain from a death and then promoting a group... I wish it spoke more specifically about healing from husbands betrayal.

When people share their unintended journey, feelings and thoughts it off encouragement, hope and often needed understanding and insight while in the midst of their circumstances or situations. Sharing offers connection for the ones who felt alone.

I really liked the honesty and the encouragement that my marriage has hope. I read this book before giving it to my wife, and I was absolutely amazed at what a woman thinks and deals with as a result of a husband addicted to porn. I was that guy, but have been sober for over 6 months, and Lord willing will be able to salvage my marriage.
