## Overview

The Vestil FJB-150 Floor Jack Post is a robust, adjustable steel support designed to temporarily level and stabilize floor beams and joists during construction or repairs. Featuring a telescopic design with a 54 to 150-inch height range, a screw and turning bar for precise adjustments, and dual-lock pins for secure positioning, it combines durability with convenience. Its red oxide finish ensures corrosion resistance, while compact storage of components inside the tube makes it a practical choice for professionals demanding reliable, on-site support.

## Description

This Vestil welded steel floor jack post (also called a basement floor jack) has a red oxide coating, a screw and turning bar, and dual-lock pins, and it extends telescopically for temporarily leveling, bracing, and stabilizing floor beams and joists during construction or repairs. The floor jack post can be adjusted and set to any height within the given range, allowing it to be used in applications with different height requirements. Welded steel provides strength. A turning bar and screw bolt are used to adjust the floor jack post's height, and two dual-lock pins secure the floor jack post at the desired height. The floor jack post has a diameter of 3". Both end plates are pre-drilled and measure 3-1/2 x 6 inches. The floor jack post should be installed on a concrete floor or concrete footing, with either end up. Basement floor jacks, or jack posts, temporarily secure floor beams and joists in construction and industrial applications; they should not be used as permanent supports in new construction. Floor jack posts are typically made of steel for strength. They consist of an adjustable post and two end plates. The height of a floor jack post is adjusted using a screw and the post is held at the desired height with a series of pins. The bottom end plate must be installed on a concrete floor or concrete footing. Bolts must be used to secure each end plate to the structure the post is supporting, and a floor jack post's end plates may or may not have pre-drilled holes for these bolts. Vestil Manufacturing Corp. manufactures materials handling equipment, including jib and gantry cranes, loading dock equipment, and storage solutions. The company, founded in 1968, is headquartered in Angola, IN.

Review: Vestil FJB-150 Floor Jack - Great Jack but major Flaw!!! - Updated - The below mentioned issue with the pins was solved by purchasing the Fastener 014973159566 Swivel Hitch Pin, 3/4 x 4-1/4-Inch on desertcart. I paid $7.34 ea. and purchased eight for my two Vestil FJB-150 Floor Jacks. I have included the pics of the pins and they work and fit perfect. If you wanted to save some extra money you could also go to the local hardware and get Grade 8 3/4inch by 4 inch bolds and just drill a hole in the end and put in a R-Cotter pin. Purchased two of the Vestil FJB-150 Basement Floor Jacks and as far as the jack itself it is well made and for the price is of good quality BUT the major flaw is the pins that they supply with the jack is a joke. It is a approx. 5/8" diameter pin with a groove cut on each end. When you try to move the jack into place the pins can easily move out of the holes. It would have cost them nothing to just drill a hole in each end of the pin and supply a pair of Hitch Pins Clips or R Clip Cotter Pins to go into the holes which would keep the pins in place when moving or adjusting the jacks. Something that for a couple of cents would have made the jack a five-star item year round. Overall the jack is a good investment as long as you spend a couple of dollars to fix the pin issue that the manufacturer could not bother to do!
Review: Worked great for me - Best money I've spent. I have a second story deck so I needed something to extend over 12+ feet. (my other supports only extended to 8'). The deck is approaching 20 years old and in great shape, but being a 35' long by 12 wide deck 14 feet off of the ground and over a lower deck the same size, keeping an eye on the 8x8 supports is a yearly thing to be safe. Still "dead on level" after all of these years, 1 of my 8x8's on the corner has some minor splitting but also had a slight "bow to it" (the other supports don't get the weather as much as the exposed end support). I purchased 2 of these to support the corner on each side of the existing post to replace the corner 8x8. For safety, I did actually pour 2 piers below grade so they had a good base to support the deck while I removed and replaced the 14' tall corner support (and added a second one). These stayed in place prior to the replacement for months and did a fantastic job.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the diameter of the pipe bolt holes?**
A: I'm not 100% sure of the actual size but I drilled a 1/2" hole in my concrete floor thru this hole and there was still room for a larger size if needed.

**Q: What is the diameter of the screw turning rod hole?**
A: The hole is 7/16" on mine, but there is a burr around the edges that might be troublesome for a rod of that diameter. The rod they supply (which is very short), fits perfectly though and it's exactly 3/8".

**Q: Can this be used as a support post to replace an old wooden one in my basement?**
A: It was used to replace a wooden support post in a basement. It has been up for a few years now with no problems. Worth the money

**Q: I want to support a 4,000 (empty) safe that will be above the basement. wonder if i need 4 of them and if i should put a 3/8" plate below the floor?**
A: It depends on the floor support system. If you have a load-bearing beam. Put one where the beam terminates at the wall and another under the safe - on the beam. I have two in the garage under a hot tub that is on an upstairs deck.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked great for me

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sturdy, Functional, But Support Pins May Fall Out
*by W***1 on December 31, 2024*

This is a very sturdy floor jack with a great adjustment range, making it useful for potentially many different projects. The ends tend to "walk" around the top and bottom surfaces when you attempt to tighten the big length adjustment screw, so plan on fastening the jack ends to both surfaces with 3/8" bolts. Holes are provided just for that purpose. I deduct one star because, as others have stated, the height setting pins fall out easily while you are trying to set the initial height (before pressure is applied). The 3/4" diameter hitch pins recommended by another reviewer DO NOT FIT THIS PRODUCT. I have ordered some 5/8" by 4+1/4" hitch pins (#014973159542) instead. Ideally, pins which cannot fall out would have been included with this product.
