This works relatively well. The "bell" (receiver) plugs into an outlet so there are no batteries to wear out in high use situations. The button (transmitter) uses an odd-size 12v "23A" battery (included and installed). Comes with mounting screws & plastic wall anchors plus double-stick tape. We're using it for an elderly family member to call someone for assistance instead of shouting - so we're not pushing range limits at all.Set-up isn't hard but is a bit tedious to run through all the chime settings to decide which one you like. Drawback #1: if you step past a chime tune you like you can't go backwards in the selection. You have to push the selection button until you reach it again.The volume control has 4 settings that should cover most needs. In use, pressing the transmitter button illuminates a blue ring around the button. When the chime sounds, the blue ring in the middle lights up in time with the tune. This can help the hearing impaired if installed withing their line of sight.It comes with a default chime setting. If you want to change the chime you have to "pair" it with the receiver by holding the transmitter button while manipulating the buttons on the receiver. It takes 2-3 seconds for the setting to complete. Therein lies Drawback #2. If the button is mounted several feet away from the receiver you'll need 2 people just to change the chime. One to hold the doorbell button down and another to manipulate the receiver's buttons. Drawback #3 is the buttons are on the side of the receiver unit and made of the same color plastic so they're not easy to locate and you have to bend down quite far if installed in a standard height wall socket. It works plugged in with the brand logo on top or bottom in case the other wall plug is in use.As a device to summon a caregiver, the only change I'd make is to make the transmitter button phosphorescent so it glows in the dark. That will aid in finding the button to push for even visually impaired users.

I have been using the door bell for couple days now and am happy with my purchase. The door bell, you can use a double sided sticky tape or use the screws to anchor it securely. You have an option of 52, yes 52 musical chimes besides the regular ding-dong, the only thing I an not a fan of is the electronic synthesizer sound instead of the crisp chime that I'm use to, but it works and am starting to get use to the synthesizer.I am glad there are 4 setting for the volume so I can hear it in other rooms besides the Kitchen. I'll give an update in 6 months to let you know how it is holding up.

Very nice doorbell. It looks good, it was easy to set up, its loud. Its also very affordable.I suppose the only room for improvement would be that the chimes you can select would include more door bell simulations (only 1 included) and less classical music (51 included).I would wish for a Big Ben or a Ring and so on. But really, the one door bell simulation that is included is just fine and works for me and is not a reason to give only 4 stars. So 5 stars, great product!

I bought an older home that had a remodel. For whatever reason the doorbell was not fixed or kept but the button was still at the front door. This was a easy fix to the issue and the system works well for me. The button looks nice and fit over the flat mounted old button very well. The speaker I plugged into a middle area of my house and I can hear it in almost every room. The speaker is very loud and I actually don't have it turned all the way up.The system has a ton a tones and songs you can pick but I just went with a standard doorbell sound which seemed to be way down the list. It was easy to setup and select the tone I wanted it just took a few minutes as there really are a lot of options.

Originally very pleased then after few months stopped working. Unable to return because it must be returned in original packaging with everything that was included. I no longer have the box so I'm out of luck. If you buy it keep all original packaging and then pay postage to return it if it is defective. I am a contractor and bought some for my customers with no complaints so far. Would have given it 5 stars otherwise.

I've had a couple doorbells that took AA batteries and they didn't seem to last long at all. It wasn't used much, but when people came over and "rang" the doorbell it didn't ring. This doorbell is great because it plugs into the wall and doesn't need batteries. The remote comes with a battery and double-sided 3M tape and screws to place outside. There's a TON of tones for the doorbell, it'll take a while to go through them all and find one that's right for you. The doorbell also has a light on it for the hearing impaired so you can see when someone is ringing the bell. A nice touch. I've payed about the same for way cheaper made doorbells before, this one blows them away.

I was a bit perplexed when I got it going immediately, but upon pressing the lower button on the receiver to review the myriad melodies available, the doorbell lit up, but no sound came out from the receiver, which did not light up. A YouTube video later, I got the instructions and it was quite easy. Great in the bedroom or living room of my 750 sq. ft. apartment because I'm hard of hearing and need it for when I'm sleeping . I really like its blue lights and its distance capability.
