I like this retainer ring as it keeps my flag close to the pole. The Oklahoma winds would lift my flag up and away causing lanyard issues as well. Now the lanyard lasts longer and the flag is steady by the pole. Costly but worth the overall comfort, reliability, and value.

The description is NOT accurate. Neither is the picture. These beads are N O T white. At best, they are off-white. But in my estimation, they're cream colored, heavy on the cream.Wrap them around a white flagpole and the color mismatch jumps out at you (and any passersby looking at your flagpole). Maybe in China the color "white" has a more aggressive hue. In which case, they shouldn't try to pass them off as white in the U.S.If color matters to you, I suggest you choose an alternate product... here or elsewhere.

We started flying 2 flags on our 6 “ diameter 23 foot tall flag pole, this retainer keeps them closer to the pole, they fly much better and don’t cause slack in the rope as before. Good little investment.
