Great knives
Great set of knives. Reviews saying they rust are dumb, of course they will if you treat them like stainless, they're not stainless! The do require some care, sort of like cast iron. I like to wash mine when I'm done using them, dry them, and put a light coat of oil on the blade. Never had any issue with them rusting when even a slight bit of care is given. They take and hold an edge wonderfully.

Less and Moore Than You Think
This knife set is American made of carbon (not stainless) steel. The blades will readily rust if not properly cared for. The handles are a rough dark natural wood that is not particularly attractive. The steel will stain over time, the handles will smooth out from use, and the knives will become like old friends. I have several Ive known for 30 years If utility and serviceability are what you’re after, these are your blades. Any guy can put an edge on these tools you can shave with. The edge lasts a good-while with a touch up. When company comes over, use your stainless set; when you want to do real food preparation or hit the campsite, a man cant do no better than Old Hickory…form follows function. I bought a full set, plus a cleaver and long meat or butcher knife. A black wooden storage block was included with the set. The block arrived damaged, and when I contacted Ontario Knife Co., the customer service agent was dismissive of my plight. She simply advised me that the block was not sold separately, much less offer a replacement. I was disappointed since I had just dropped $125 for her company’s product. A little epoxy saved the day.
