This is a great first book for anyone preparing to purchase a Scottish Terrier. This book is full of the basic questions in regards to temperment, characteristics, basic vet questions, basic commands. If you get this it will help, it is easy to read and very understandable and with lots of pictures. If you bring one of these little live wires into your home. Good Luck and Great Patience. This is a great little book about this breed of dog filled with general care to include diet; health; grooming and training as it pertains to the Scottish Terrier. It is filled with lots of nice pictures which help the person newly acquainted with the breed, especially since they are not a commonly seen breed. Very informative and useful book, and one of the few devoted entirely to the one breed. I liked it and would recommend it.

Ok - for someone who does not know how to use the internet...and doesn't really want to know much...this might be okay.But, for anyone who really wants to know about Scotties - don't bother with this book - you can find more info online.

Excellent book, accessible and objective, relevant information to this breed. Puppy care, monitoring of weight gain and tooth care and grooming are interesting.

I think it will be best for people considering to buy a Terrier. For current owners, many things are already known.

Contains most general information about looking after Scottish Terriers that you will need. It is an American book which means some information is not the same as in the UK (injections) or indeed not relevant at all (dealing with skunk smell) but overall some good information.

Bought as a present for a scottie owner who loved it and still refers to it 2 yrs later. Lots of lovely scottie pics.

Nothing very different from other books on same subject as regards detailed information. The book contains a few more photographs.

Well of course I loved it -- it is a book about Scottish Terriers! My wee Hamish and his litter mate, Rosie, thought it was lovely. Although when did they have time to learn to read English? Key point: it really is all about the food and this book -- very well done, pleased to give it four stars. Loyal to the end of their pointed tail, understanding and caring and now I can pick up this book to see how to care more effectively. Only the Scotties are five stars! Kindly adopt a Scottish accent and remember, "they're nought but hairy pigs"

I enjoyed this very much, to learn as much as I could about my new puppy. It was right on in regard to his character and behaviour.
