Wear rubber gloves throughout treatment. 1. Do not shampoo or wet hair prior to treatment. Use a timer from start of application. Typical time requirements for Normal hair is 12-16 minutes. I know other people have mentioned issues with over-relaxing, doing it themselves, but I found that if I don't do my whole head all at one time, I have no issues. I do half at a time when I do it myself. It's possible to stagger this across two or more weekends, by apply a heavy shea butter moisturizer heavily on the side you aren't working on. I am a mix of 4b/4a/3c. Also, I only wear wash & gos and need something to better manage my shoulder length hair. I brought this product to smooth, loosen and elongate my natural hair. The back is all 4b. I left the product on for 25 minutes and got what I consider PERFECT CURLS! The middle is 4a, left on for 20 minutes and got great curls too. The front and sides are 3c, left on for 7 minutes and the curls are now a little looser than what I hoped for, but still looks textured. I think 5 minutes would have been best for the 3c areas. But that's my fault, The product is great though! My hair still looks very natural even though its texturized.
