Eddie Bauer Men's MicroTherm 2.0 Down Jacket, Pimento Regular L

I purchased this jacket as a replacement for my fleece jackets i am currently using. The temperature I was working in was 25 degrees, as I am not a polar bear it did not keep me warm. The zippers are very small and cheap, the slightest pressure on the lower end of the zipper while it is zipped up and it will separate. It is very difficult to use the zipper with gloves and the sewing of the jacket is porous enough to allow the down work it's way out of the compartments. You look like a molting duck! I would have returned the jacket but I snagged it on a bush and it now has a small hole so I'm stuck with it. This is not the quality of jackets I am accustom to from Eddie Bauer. If all you are going to use this jacket for is to get to the car to the club or store then back to car, it will work. But then why don't you purchase a good quality fleece?

I am giving this jacket a 4 star because the fit is perfect for me. I am 5'4' with chest 40 inch and usually wear small jackets and a lot of medium/small shirts. I had to return a marmot down jacket because I bought small size and it was tight on my chest and sleeves were long and shaggy. This particular jacket from Eddie Bauer's medium size fit like a glove and no problem with sleeve length. I also have no problem with mobility, has good length, and good sleeve length which is usually the problem for me.The downside of this jacket is that it is too thin for a 800 fill jacket. I thought 800 fill jacket would be very warm with good thickness like my old 800 fill North Face jacket is. I do not think this jacket will still make you warm under 40 degree F with just a t-shirt inside. I wore Eddie Bauer fleece as an inner which is very warm with this jacket at 37 degree F yesterday and it kept me really warm. I will test this jacket on Rocky Mountain's in few weeks and see if it is going to hold the warmth with and without fleece inside.

I've been looking for a down jacket for the fall. Most look remarkably similar. This caught my eye because of the different design, thinner patterns, and nice color combo.I've been very impressed. First, it's very light and packable, like most other down jackets. Quality of stitching seems great. The fit is good. I have an athletic build and usually wear a 42L jacket size. I do have 34/35 sleeve length. This large size jacket fits perfectly. The sleeve is perfect length. Length of the jacket is just below the belt line. The chest is perfect. Definitely a fitted look. What I mean by perfect fit for me is that if you are much larger or longer, this jacket will be too small.One more thing, this jacket is not reversible.Overall, I love the fit and style of this jacket.

love it it keeps me warm and its amazing man coat

My husband really likes him. He travels between a cold winter and mild winter environment quite regularly for work, so this is great because it is packable, light, and keeps him warm with the right amount of layers. When he flies out of home/returns, he can add sweater underneath and make it from the airport without having to lug a heavier/bulkier parka. I don't know if this would be ideal for longevity outside below the freezing point, but for early winter/brisk fall it's great, and then base layer and an extra sweater adds the range. My husband while lean does have a 41" chest and 5'10" the M fit him nicely, allowing a bit of layering underneath, but not too relaxed.

I hate wearing coats. I however live in a climate where I need one. I have worn this now for two weeks and it is wonderful. I was surprised how light it is. The last week the temps have been in the 20 to 30 degree range and I am not layering to stay warm. You will not be disappointed with this. Great design, nice pockets and ahhh warmth.

Great jacket! Well designed and constructed. Lightweight and warm. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is the permanent crease running down the outside of the sleeves. I washed it to see if the fabric would relax, but the crease remains. Given all of the obviously excellent design that pervades the entire construction, I think it's a design feature and not an artifact of being folded too long. But I'd prefer a smoother esthetic. The crease makes it look like I'm striking a muscleman flex pose when my arms are relaxed at my sides.

The jacket in the picture looks thick and warm. but when I received this jacket it was really flimsy. This is good as a rain jacket but if you are looking for a warm and rain jacket then this is not the right one. Also the color is reality was a little more dull than what is shown here.
