These Things Really Work!
Well, they work within limitations. But they work better than anything I've ever tried for what I want then for. All kinds of smoke, particularly cigarette smoke causes me problems. I needed something that would help if I was suddenly was exposed to unexpected cigarette smoke-for example, in a drive thru and someone lights up in the car ahead off me while I have my window down. In the past that has been an immediate headache, or worse, for me. In this kind of situation, I don't even smell the smoke when I have these on! And now I have them in a smaller size which fits me better. I really haven't used these for a rapid walk yet, so I don't know if I'll still be able to get my breath then. But they work great for every day!I read the reviews, and one person who is a senior citizen said they didn't work for her. Well, according to the government, I'm a senior citizen-that is if the receipt of Medicare counts. I suspect that there was some other reason this person couldn't use them.I have tried all kinds of things to filter my breathing and lessen my exposure to allergens. Surgical masks can be hot and uncomfortable, and are definitely unsightly. Masks do next to nothing to reduce smoke for me. I tried several different kinds of carbon filter masks. One, which worked temporarily, was heavy and uncomfortable, and caused me to have an upper respiratory allergy when I left it on a long time. Another one worked temporarily, but didn't last long at all and had to be frequently replaced in order to continue working. All of them were at least as unsightly as the surgical masks (one was worse). I tried filters that are inserted into the nose, but first I couldn't find the correct size. After trial and error, I concluded my nostrils are different sizes. If I get them to fit one nostril, they hurt in the other one. Once they even caused bleeding. And they really lowered the amount of air I was getting, and didn't filter the smoke as well.I believe my allergies are pretty bad. I doubt that I will ever be totally free of medication. Right now I'm taking one antihistamine and have two inhalers-one rescue inhaler, and one steroid. I don't mean to be complaining, but I feel a burning sensation in my nose, and sometimes even down into my lungs if I accidentally breathe in smoke. But, with First Defense, I can tell a difference in my breathing, and notice less coughing. And the big thing-I even forget I'm wearing them sometimes unless I go by a mirror..

I bought this for my trip to China (the pollution there can be pretty awful) as an extra layer of protection if I forgot to put on my mask. I also used it during work meetings so that it's not as obvious and it worked pretty well. The stickers were easy to put on and I didn't have much trouble fitting it around my nostrils. It will take some time adjusting to the breathing with this blocking most of the air flow but I think in general, it served its purpose.

Not impressed
Just not impressed. Didn't fit well and came off too easily. I can't comment on the effectiveness of the filter because I couldn't get comfortable wearing them.

Hard to put on but works as advertised
First off I’d like to say that this is a wonderful idea and that they do work as advertised. However there is a bit of a learning curve to putting these things in. They’re kind a like Band-Aid-ish and that they have a little bit of fabric surrounded by a little bit of a sticky thing. The hard part to this is that you’ve got to get this all around the outside of your nose surrounding your nasal passage. And you’ve got to do it so that the entire nasal passage is closed off by this little thingamajig so that both nasal passages end up closed off and your breathing through this fabric. Otherwise it’s completely useless. Because the whole point is to block off any bacteria or viral stuff that’s in the air for me personally it’s while I’m on an airplane for you or anybody else it may be for the subway or out in the city or anywhere where you may be getting a lot of germs. I found it to be a wonderful change from having to wear a mask or something like that on the airplane. However like I said it did take quite a bit to get the things on properly. Especially the first time around.I recommend that you wash your face especially around your nose and dry it.After you dry your nose and it’s completely dry you need to carefully put these things on in a mirror and make sure they press down really well so that you can see the thing go in and out as you breathe in each nostril. Once you’ve got them both and then you’re good to go. It’s really quite an invention and this last trip I didn’t get sick which I usually do get sick from all the germs on the plane. So it actually does work as long as it put in properly

Disappointed in the inconvenient design! Don't stick.
Well was I disppointed! I was so hoping these would be the better nasal filters~ but sadly they don't stick for long with normal daily activities. If you are just gonna sit there, no talking, no eating. The glue area is lob-sided or uneven. If you drink or eat they come off. Then my nose started running and quite a bit, so had to keep peeling back or the glue would let go.It was terribly inconvenient and was embarrassed if someonevseen me wearing them! Not cool!

Life saver!
These work! I wear makeup and sweat when I’m running and they stay put. You have to follow the directions to get them on and don't reposition them or you may lose some of the tackiness on the sticky part. Thank you for this! It has kept me from getting any sinus infections. I can finally enjoy the outdoors in winter without cedar killing me!

Good idea, good sometimes . . .still experimenting with them.
Still a bit undecided about these. What I do like is they stick easily and completely to the skin, so the nasal coverage is really good. They are effective if you are able to breath through your nose. If your nose is stuffy, or the tissue swollen, it does not seem these will be effective, as you would have to breath through your mouth, still bringing in pollen or dust. Best to use before you get to that point so the pollen and dust doesn't have it's way with you . . .

Nasal filters vs face mask for Germs, pollen and allergies
Very happy with this product as I dislike face mask and it gives some options in regard to being in crowds or airplanes with germs.Easy to put on and you can breath through your nose fairly easily. You look funny and get occasional looks due to it looking like you have no nostrils, but a facemask imo looks more noticeable and is harder to breath through in my experience.

This product arrived before the date it was expected which was very good. I have been using first defense nasal screens for quite a while now - much better than using a mask in my opinion. The price from this seller is the best I have bought this product for so far (thumbs up). Thank you.

Three stars for overall performance. Filtration is superb but aplaying is bit difficult and keeping it in place for someone working physically outdoor is tricky.
