- "The right to veto is surely a father's prerogative. Working with my two sons, Tom and Sam, gives me great pleasure but every now and then I like to challenge them by exercising my right. Fortunately, in developing these wines, no such interference was needed. The only thing we did not agree on was the name but I vetoed them on that." Peter Barry. The Clare Valley experienced some unusual weather in the lead up to the 2015 vintage with a very dry spring, which was ideal for budburst. We experienced our coolest January in 23 years, although rainfall remained very low. We were finally blessed with some significant rainfall, which really saved our vintage and led to wonderful flavour development and acid retention.
- Jim Barry 'The Veto' Single Vineyard Riesling is a pale straw coloured white wine. It opens with lifted notes of ginger spice, grapefruit, fresh Jonathon apple with tropical guava fruit and fuijoa.
- A generous palate packed with a cornucopia of riper tropical fruits, some underlying chalky minerality draws it all out finishing with lingering ripe lemon citrus.
- The Rieslings exhibit delicate floral aromatics with intense lime citrus fruit flavours on the palate with fantastic length. This Riesling was crafted from premium Riesling grapes from our family vineyard at Clare Valley.
- 100% Riesling
