Perfect Torture Device
These acupresusure flip-flops feel basically how I expected them to, however the first couple of times I wore them it was like walking on a bed of small Legos. Only worse. (The name of these is misleading. They don't feel like a massage, unless your idea of a massage is walking across a bed of gravel for pleasure.) I got used to them over a period of 4-5 days starting with just standing in them for 10 minutes the first day (I have a standing desk at work), didn't wear them Day 2, wore them for an hour Day 3 (walked approximately 40 feet) and they did feel better, didn't wear them Day 4, then wore them for a couple of hours Day 5, walking longer stretches. I hope to be able to wear them like normal flip-flops (meaning all day) within a couple of weeks. I won't be running a marathon in them anytime soon, but at least now I can get from one room to the next at more than a snail's pace and even without grimacing.Listed as men's, I ordered an 8, as I am a female and typically wear a 9 1/2 in women's shoes. Reading other reviews, I sized up since I have worn a 7 1/2 in other men's/unisex shoes. The 8 was the exact length of my foot (no extra room at either end - see photos), so these do run small. Also, it's important to note that they are extremely narrow. I have a narrow foot, so these are actually perfect for me, but I'm not sure they would be comfortable for someone who has a wide foot. (I actually wonder if these are women's sizing.) The part that comes up onto the top of the foot where the toe post ends is sort of pointed/angled down, which causes poking into the tops of my feet (see photo). Given that these are made out of some sort of rubber material, they are flexible and have stretched a tiny bit, making it less uncomfortable. The sole design is cute, however it's actually just painted on rather than being two molded colors. The paint job isn't great, and normally I would be pretty critical about something like that, but it's all the way down at the ground so who's looking there anyway? As for the benefits intended, it's too soon to say since I've only had them for a week, but I believe in the practices of acupuncture/acupressure and reflexology. After I put them on the first time, within a minute I could feel my feet heating up from the blood circulation being activated, so that was encouraging. Or maybe I'm just an optimist and in reality it was my body's reaction to try and fight off an attack, similar to how your skin turns red after trauma and your immune system sends blood there to fight back. I'll update my review after I've given them time to do their magic... if there is any to be had.Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with them. I didn't expect them to be runway worthy. And they're not. But I have some minor health complaints I'm hoping they will help with so it was worth $19 to test them rather than spending $60 for one acupuncture treatment. And although it feels like I'm walking on a bed of a thousand dull thumbtacks, at least I'm not actually intentionally driving 20 acupuncture needles into my feet instead. I also feel like they have calmed down a little after wear, like they were rigid after production and now that my body weight has been on them for a while they've moved around so they aren't sticking straight up into my foot. I considered other much more expensive similar products, but wondered how different they could possibly be. Wasn't worth the extra $40 to find out.

An unexpected experience with the sandals
Hard nubs feels like I'm walking on nails. These flip flops are a flop if the manufacturer is selling them as "massage". I had to walk slowly to avoid as much pain as possible and finally just threw them in the closet, never to b worn again.UPDATE - The company reached out and refunded my purchase due to the unsatisfactory experience. While the sandal may not have been right for me, the company's integrity is appreciated.

Will likely buy again, but in a bigger size!
These run small but have held up beautifully. Been in use for over 6 months now. The knobbies on them are no joke! Can't take them for long periods of time, but really appreciate how they relax my feet, legs, and back or use them to wake me up in the morning.
