They work well, and as expected for my setup.
They work well,I fitted mine without the spikes, hot glued on top of 6" Net cup lids in a 5 gallon pail setup (4 of them), so they sit flush. They water right on the outside of the medium (soil) and they are on a ART DNE type timer system with drains. Five gallon pails because it makes for more room and time if things go wrong. For me they perform their task well as I live alone and am away driving a Big truck for 8-12 days at a time.Beats a plant sitter. These things allow me to just come home and prune, tweak and fuss and let me enjoy the Berries, Green Onions and what ever else I have going on. The Garlic doesn't need them, they are a lot slower and are on their own in self contained pails, no flood and drain, just single pails in a DWC. All of this inside the house for all the same reasons.Different drain rates for those Greens that need it and I'm rolling! The rings are convenient and feel good and sturdy, we'll see how they do in a while, sofar one trip and home without problems.I'd recommend them even just because they work good.Hope that helps.

Definitely a good dripper to give even watering
These are good halo rings but here are some tips.First make sure you evenly distribute your water tubing to supply equal pressure to each dripper. Secondly keep them off dirt or soil so they dont clog.Third install them level so all the holes on the halo ring are used.I uses a 1/2 barb pvc fitting over each leg and push it all the way up.This way when i push the halo down into dirt its is level. Its simple plus it keeps them off the soul about a inch and a half.Lastly use good nutes.Really dirty or salty nutes will clog them.

Functional, does the job

Effective and Affordable.
I have had 2 of the 6 inch halos in operation for about a month now. I really do like these quite a bit. They make watering my plants so much easier without having to kneel on my knees. They have plenty of flow and seem to water evenly. I will be buying more of these in the future especially at such a good price.

Inconsistent hole sizes and pattern
Bought 3 of these for my plants. When comparing all 3 against each other, the holes on each were very inconsistent and poorly drilled. The holes were not evenly sized or in uniform rows. This could prevent water from flowing evenly. Ultimately, they will do the job but if I were to do this again, I’d go with another product that has a better focus on quality and consistency.

Finally Found a Perfect Hydroponic Plant Feeder
Finally Found a Perfect Hydroponic Plant FeederThese are the perfect solution to water my plants, which are in 8" net-pot lids for 5-gallon buckets and filled with expanded-clay beads (Hydroton). I tried lots of other home-made watering arrangements with drip-irrigation components and nozzles, but when I bought a few in a local "grow yer' own" hydroponics supply store and tried them out, I just had to stock up from Amazon to make sure all my plants were so well-equipped. I see that they are also available in other sizes, too, but these are just right for me - and easy to hook-up and install. The ring is flexible enough to twist in order to get it to fit around larger trunks without cracking or breaking, and the plastic stakes are even more flexible but stiff enough to be pushed down into the Hydroton beads without fear of breaking. Since they don't present any back-pressure to my hydroponic pump, they might not allow you to use a combination of these with pressure-fed mini-sprinklers and drip nozzles because they flow so freely. I use a repurposed aquarium pump/filter setup (Penn-Plax), so I'm not concerned with the nozzles getting clogged up either.

Good idea. Wish it worked.
Notice that the opening is so small that once the plant is enclosed inside and quickly outgrows the opening, the only way you can move or remove it is to destroy the plant, which makes it risky to use. Summary: A good idea but a lousy, lousy, lousy design. That's a shame since I was looking forward to using 4 of them. Returned.

Great product. Does what it is supposed to do
Great product. Does what it is supposed to do. The holes are big enough that low pressure will still get water out. The stakes can bend a bit but keep it in soil where you want it. The flow rate is not controllable from this ring at all - so I recommend putting a valve in as high water pressure will make this thing shoot 100 streams of water like a jet.
