This book is terrible and the 5 star reviews are probably not real.
I ordered this book and it is terrible. There is another book by the same title, which is 1000 time better. I believe that the 5 star reviews are all false. They seem to be written by the same person. Most of the techniques in the book are the obvious ones that people already know about. I am going to try to report this book to Amazon, I think there is some fraud going on here. Try the book by Benjamin and Shermer if you really want to learn mental math.

Crazy good!
Woohoo, the best! The things you can do after you learn how to better use your brains. I found out that I also improved my memory and visualization using various technics described in the book. I think just about every person would benefit from this book. Now that we have computers we use our brains too little. If you want to stay smart and capable of using your brains long into the old age, buy this book immediately!

Tricks for math without a calculator
This book has tricks for a number of mathematical operations, for example easy tricks for multiplying numbers by 11 or adding a long columns of numbers. I noticed a couple of typos, for example missing a space in the fraction 12/5 instead of 1 2/5. Despite some typos I thought the book had useful lessons especially for those who are too reliant on calculators and want to be able to do math in their head.Ali Julia review

A Lot of Random Information in a Small Book
There’s a lot of helpful information in this little book, but it’s somewhat random and crammed in. It will probably take a few reads to begin to absorb even a little bit of it, even if you take notes. It is fairly helpful, though.

Fun Book with Great Tricks
I never would have thought a book about math would be fun but the author was able to make this happen. I use these math secrets often throughout my week. The chapter that gave the most value was the one on coming up with ballpark estimates in a few seconds. The other chapters offer great tips as well.

As a wayward humanities guy, I recently renewed my interest in math, and I went a research journey. I stumbled upon Paek's book, and it's helped strengthen my numeric mental muscles in a big way. The lessons are straightforward and digestible, and I find myself applying them to bookkeeping and other numbers-based tasks.

Oh no…….it made me think…….
There’s a lot to be said for the “old fashioned” way of approaching mathematics and mental arithmetic. These days it’s all too easy what with calculators on our computers, smartphones and tablets. That’s not necessarily a bad thing – but what would we do without that calculator app? This book helps to answer that by outlining plenty of hints, tips and strategies to get you in to the “old fashioned” way and exercise your brain at the same time. It’s fun too. A very enjoyable and interesting read.It took me back to my schooldays and helped me to reconnect with maths old-style. It made me think plenty too. Maths doesn’t come easy to all of us and I found that reading, writing down some of the exercises and repeating a few ties really helped to learn and understand the principles.I feel much sharper mentally as a result. A recommended read for anyone wanting to learn something new and develop a skill which is always useful to have.

Enjoyed learning from this book.
Mental health has been associated with numbers for a very long period of time. This book goes into details regards to dealing with numbers and how that is connected with the efficiency of the brain. Although there were certain grammatical and numerical errors in the book, it is really a smart read. That’s probably the only reason I am giving it a 4 star. I hope the author update the book and remove the errors. There are good few tips on calculating different sorts of numbers. For example small but complex number can be calculated in several different ways. And the author shows us that in the book. I really enjoyed reading the book.

The book is very interesting.
The book has good tricks to perform calculation mentally. It should have some figures to illustrate the methods. I recommend it.
