More recently, I started upgrading my macbooks with SSD drives. I was getting tired of using the cheap tools that came with the replacement batteries, so I decided to upgrade. I chose this kit because it appeared to be all-inclusive for my needs + the reviews were quite favorable. I changed out an old hard drive for an SSD on my daughter's macbook pro today. What A delight it was to use these tools! The quality appears to be decent, the tips are nicely magnetized -- they hold screws well, and the selection of bits is never-ending; something for everything. And to top it off, the kit comes with a little magnetic parts mat. Talk about a life saver! I can't tell you how much time I've spent on my knees looking for the screw that got away. And it all comes in a nice compact zipper case that should last for years to come. And let's mention the price - fantastic! It is usually fine, but my bag has been pulled off the conveyor a couple times after seeing them on the X-ray. They always return it to me once they realize it's just a repair kit, though. **Q: I've tried to figure it out but.. what is the 1-pc. magnetic parts mat? it's not magnetized itself..** A: Only the white side of the parts mat is magnetic. If you try to put screws on the black side, they will not stick. It is also not very strongly magnetic, because that would make it very difficult to get the tiny screw such as those used in iPhones picked back up off of it. **Q: bits are made of chrome vanadium ?** A: I am not sure of there composition but, I can tell you that of the 3 set tool like the 28301, the bits are definitely higher quality. I tried the manufacturers website but no luck. Hope I was at least a little helpful. **Q: So the handle magnetizes the different tips so that the screws stay put? Does it work well?** A: Yes, the handle magnetizes the tip to hold it securely in place along with the screws. I found it works quite well. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sexy & Versatile :) I’m in love w/ this tool *by B***K on May 3, 2018* If you’re like me who likes to fix/repair things or tinker around gadgets, then, this is a must have. I also have a physically larger kit, but with less drivers. This one includes just about EVERY driver you might need - including pentalobes and tri-wings, essential for repairing a certain brand of computer/smartphone. it also has openers that look to be perfectly designed for lifting adhesive-secured surfaces. For those quick emergency repairs away from the workbench, it includes a magnetic mat that sits in one half of the clamshell case - a VERY practical inclusion. The only thing missing is a rivet head cutter for certain keyboard removal/replacements. Given my experience with the previous set, I would be more careful with the drivers, especially any that have thin edges - slots and tri-wings in particular. That said, I think this is a great tool kit that will get you through most basic computer/tech device repairs, and is portable enough to keep in your go-bag for emergency repairs. ## Frequently Bought Together - TEKTON Everybit Tech Rescue Kit (46-Piece) | 28301 - TEKTON Double-Faced Soft Mallet | 30812 - TEKTON Everybit Precision Tool Kit (27-Piece) | 2830 --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.be/products/14273549-tekton-everybit-tech-rescue-kit-46-piece-28301](https://www.desertcart.be/products/14273549-tekton-everybit-tech-rescue-kit-46-piece-28301) --- *Product available on Desertcart Belgium* *Store origin: BE* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
