This device is definitely not plug and play as advertised; you have to install a driver that is supposedly stored on the device. However, there are no instructions in or on the device package. When I plugged the device into my laptop, two files popped up – one had “XP” in the filename and the other didn’t. I installed the one that didn’t have “XP” since I was running Windows 10. The software put my laptop in an endless loop that I was not able to recover from without losing a lot of my programs and data. I tried doing a restore and that failed, too. I finally had to take it to the computer shop to the tune of $100 to get them to recover as much as possible but not all. I’m still struggling trying to get some of my data back. Before I did the paperwork to return the device I went to look at the item again on amazon. There I found the instructions on “How To Use” and the name of the driver file to install that was supposed to be on the device but wasn’t. I looked at the reviews and, in a reply to one, there was a website to find the driver on. I decided to try one more time to see if I could make the device work, now armed with the instructions and the “correct” file. I downloaded the file, saved it and ran a scan on it to be sure it was safe, and then installed it. After executing the file, the driver reported that it had been installed successfully and that I needed to restart my computer to finalize the install, which I did. Next I connected the device to my computer and to my TV and did the “win+p” keystroke to make it duplicate the computer screen but, unfortunately, the device still did not work; there was no HDMI output from the device. When I looked at the package the device was in, I saw that it lists Windows 2000, XP, Vista, 7, and 8 but nowhere does it say that it supports Windows 10 even though the amazon page states that it does work with Windows 10. Also, the manufacturer's name is not found on the package or on the device. I’m not even sure that I got what I ordered now! I only know that this has been a very bad experience and I am very disgusted and unhappy.

I hope Amazon stops selling this product immediately. This product is not plug-play, and I had to install the driver that came on the disk in the package. The software damaged my laptop and now I have to reset my PC.

Please listen to all the previous reviews. I managed to not damage my computer, but the device does not work. Total waste of money. And if none of you noticed, all of the positive reviews have the same grammatical errors....ijs...
