Replace these diligently every 6 months. If you live in an old place like me and the air has a bit of a smell to it, a new Aprilaire filter is a night and day difference. Towards the end of its life, you'll be able to tell just how good of a job it does.

I thought I’d try these in my HVAC system to see if it’s worth the extra cost. Overall I’m happy with how they perform, but the big benefit of the carbon is odor reduction. I just installed a UV light, and that will take care of the odor now, as well as other contaminants. Because of that I probably won’t buy these again, but if I didn’t have the UV light I’d use these. I keep my fan running constantly to help keep my air clean and temps balanced in the home, and this does a good job of cleaning the air.

You get what you pay for. High quality, Works better than expected, easy installation, but pricey. I believe there is a noticeable difference between this filter and the standard Aprilaire filter.

I balked at the price, but I also know that I needed a pretty good filtration system. Autumn is the time I kick on the furnace and sneeze ... but especially this autumn, since the heavy rains in our region have made my basement a bit damp. I figured I'd get mildew spread around the house for a day or two. And then there's the cat litter boxes down there...But I put in the new filter yesterday, turned on the furnace and ... fresh air! No sneezing, no dust, no mildew smell, no remnants of kitty urine.And, these will last a long time. It's worth the cost, especially to maintain my fancy new furnace!

I bought these air filters to use in my new Carrier Infinity furnace. I decided to order the 413CBN as an upgrade to the Aprilaire 413 that was included with the furnace as I was planning on having routine maintenance done on the unit before winter actually set in in earnest. I had had some bronchitis in the past and I saw that this filter could help with allergies and odor reduction. Besides it was cheaper to buy through Amazon instead of the Carrier dealership. I am happy with the results.

Saves me $20-$25 every time I have my furnace serviced (twice a year). They would charge me up to $50 to replace the filter. I now have a great filter that I can replace several times a year. This kind of filter is one easily found in the retail stores
