I sanded and painted this first, taking the base off (there are 6 small screws under this and you remove those). This device is hollow inside. I drilled a small hole behind this and mounted a Sirius antenna inside. I used some topnotch Silicone adhesive/weather-sealant to seal the whole thing up. I used additional 3M 2-part glue on the bottom; this device comes with 3M tape and that works great...but I wanted to take no chances with it coming loose. I ran the antenna wire along the glass rubber seal and it's invisible.This thing looks terrific. The Sirius radio works great too. The color matches my car.

Of all the shark fins that I have had to replace in my lifetime, this one is pretty decent.Pros:- It's the beefiest shark fin I have ever bought and its ok b/c it only makes my sports car more beastly!- It has a removable bottom plate, which is a plus in my book b/c now I can fill the inside of the shark fin to strengthen it and weigh it down while it sits on the roof of my car. (Previous shark fin was hollow inside and it broke in half after just going through an automatic car wash for the first time)Cons:- Paint job is pretty good but could be better. Its a little runny in some areas.- There isn't enough of the 3M tape underneath. 3 strips along the sides makes me worried that it might not stick long enough. I suggest adding more to make it more secure.- There is 5 slots for 5 screws but mine only came with 3 screws. I will have to find 2 substitutes.Overall, I would recommend this shark fin to anyone. It's good enough for those who want a quick "peel & stick" shark fin but for those who are looking for better quality, it might require a little more work to make it your own.

Bought this for my husband as a decorative piece for his car. Its looks ok, but sits up slightly above roof so don't know how long it will be before water etc gets in and damages double sided tape.

the adhesive is too weak to attach the antenna.

Wife hates it! Cool, it stays on MY car. I have always wanted a fin antenna and didn't want to drill and wire an aftermarket one on the car. Paint is a perfect match.
