Fabulous book to add to my collection. There are many patterns and easy instructions. It also gives a description of the goings on throughout the day in a Victorian household. I recommend this book highly.

Enjoy looking from room to room
I enjoyed looking at this book for inspiration for period decorations room dimentions and overall ideas for Victorian homes. I build and sell dollhouses and look for information as to improve my realism in details. This book serves it's purpose for me.

Projects very primitive
I bought this book based on reviews, but was very disappointed. It is filled with simplistic projects that produce crude results, not likely to satisfy the modern sophisticated dollhouse collector. The description of daily activities in a Victorian home is mildly interesting, but nothing you will not already know if you collect miniatures. Basically, the author sounds like a nice lady, but the book is a waste of money and time.

I initially got this book at the library. My daughter and I are building a Victorian doll house from cardboard boxes. I found it charming and terribly interesting. My daughter insisted I buy a copy - which I did. This book has a unique format as it explains "the Victorian life" by walking through the day and chores by explaining the people, tools, customs, dress and articles. Very interesting with helpful "how to" info. I guess all I could ask for was more because it was so interesting.

Living in the Victorian Era with Christiane Berridge
The book 'Victorian Dolls' House Projects: A Day in the Life' by Christiane Berridge, is to me, one of the most interesting books I have ever purchased on the Victorian Dolls' House era. Her down-to-earth manner of explaining things and making use of every-day items in and around your home, are all you will need to further enthuse you in creating items for your hobby. Christiane, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
