Enjoyed reading the book. One silver lining from this coronavirus is that there is another bike boom going on right now. I hope people enjoy the ride.

Well researched and interesting
If you like bicycles and transportation history, this throughly original work is a fine place to start. As a companion to the amazing book, "Roads Were Not Built For Cars", "Bike Boom" picks up where that left off and provides an insightful look into bicycle transportation issues in the 20th century. The focus is almost exclusively on the U.S. and U.K. Sadly, many of the issues from "back in the day" are still with us. Cycle vs auto. What I found very interesting was the fact that just because one builds a great bicycling infrastructure, doesn't mean people will use it. The author gives example of this surprising contradiction.Simply put, if you like bicycles, especially for transportation, and history, you will enjoy this well written, scholarly work.
