Great e collar and EXCELLENT, responsible directions for use
Great collar!I used the nylon collar or “belt” as they call it instead of the plastic one as I preferred the fabric and it looked more durable. I love the number of features it has with the different sized metal prongs and especially the lock button on the remote so you don’t have to worry about accidentally hitting a button. Additionally, I read through the manual which was extremely thorough, but made it very clear multiple times about how to use the collar properly, how to watch for irritation from the collar and properly fit it, how to clean it and keep it functioning: showing a lot of responsibility on their end to make sure the user is well informed. This is my first e-collar as I’ve been on the fence about getting one for a long time, not because of any thoughts on cruelty as I’m proficient in training my dog to behave well but because it’s really only one circumstance it’s needed for. I have a large GSP lab mix and she behaves beautifully in town, camping and on busy trails, but as soon as we get going to more remote areas and she sees deer...she is gone. Other things I can tell her to “leave it!” And she listens but deer are just too tempting. Typically she is back in a few minutes after me screaming at the top of my lungs at her in the woods (yeah I have to be THAT person) and she’s fine. Long story short, a year ago she took off after some deer when I was snowshoeing (snow was super deep off trail) and she didn’t return for 20 minutes and it was getting dark. I panicked with no sound of her coming (She doesn’t bark hardly ever) but finally she returned. This instance of likely her getting stuck in a deep snow drift somewhere and pulling her 85 lb body out is what I believe to be the cause of the initial tears of both her CrCL’s. This cost me a $4500 surgery last year and despite being a “bionic puppy” with new knees bracketed in place, I wouldn’t care to see another ligament go somewhere else with her wild shenanigans. I’m talking this dog runs down a steep mountainside after deer like something out of the The Man from Snowy River. She is very responsive to the beep and so far all I’ve had to do is use a moderate vibrate. I haven't had the *good fortune* to see any deer yet since it’s still fairly cold and hikes have been limited but I will be interested to see how this performs. She has a tendency to run ahead on trails and calling her to come back followed by a beep or vibrate if I don’t see her coming toward me on the trail is working well.**TIP: I bring cut up hot dog in a baggie (or any small treat) in my pocket so when the dog listens with or without the collar triggering and comes to you (doesn’t do behavior you are avoiding, ect) they get a POSITIVE reward. For the price and quality and especially the well laid out manual, I'm impressed with the value and don’t think there would be much reason to get one of the $150+ e collars unless your dog roams miles away. This has a pretty good amount of distance which is why I chose it, as many collars only go to about 500 ft. This ranges well over half a mile which is more than enough for my purposes.

Good for what it is
The only reason it was challenging for us is because our dog already has on an electric fence collar and a regular collar. We wanted this to stop her from barking in her cage at night. It turns out that we only had to put our dogs together and then she didn’t make a noise. But it was working for us on the stronger setting. The best one we had was from a trainer. She didn’t make a peep with that one. This wasn’t quite as effective.

Good product for the cost
I wanted to use this for a little while prior to posting a review, but can say after 6 weeks of use i am pleasantly surprised. For starters the first unit i received did not appear to have any shock to the touch until you were around a setting of 50. I contacted the seller and they answered the email within a day and immediately sent me another unit that was received very quickly. This one did work a little better, but i still need to have the setting rather high. This could also be attributed to our dogs, Siberian Huskies, which are known for thick coats and pure stubbornness and aloofness. Taking this into consideration if there was a check box for customer support i would have to give them 6 stars. The one suggestion I would make is that they should consider reducing the amount of incremental adjustments 1-100 is just too many as the change in intensity is not even noticeable, and having to adjust it by depressing each time is tedious. Ten or twenty settings would be more than adequate. The unit does have three different memory settings, but i find that i just use one.Prior to the purchase of this collar we had purchased a "name brand" collar for $180 (we have two husky pups). After using the two collars side by side I have absolutely no qualms about this collar and regret the $180 purchase . I could go through five of these before reaching this cost point and would hope to have my dogs off of these before ever reaching that point. As stated i have no regrets with this purchase and would recommend it to others.

Great Collar, Works Well.. Highly Recommended
Got this collar for my Black Lab, after reading the reviews, we thought we would give this a try. We have a small farm and wanted a way to train our Lab that did not involve cords/wires. Set up was quick and easy. Charged the remote and collar piece and within a few hours we were ready to use. We started off by putting the collar on for a few minutes then taking it off. We did that for 2 days. It helps so that when you put it on there not trying to take it off, or try and chew at it. We introduced the beeping sound in the house so he gets familiar with it, it gets his attention. When we are outside we have to use the vibration mode. There’s a lot of noise outside so the beeping gets his attention but the vibration brings his focus back. We’ve only had to use the shock feature once, when he tried to run across the road to chase a dear. Since that one time we have not had to use it again. When we put the collar on he knows that we are going on a walk around the perimeter of the property. He now associates the collar with the walks and is starting to understand that this walk requires him to sit, stay, wait and run when we give the command. We also make sure to carry treats to give him every time he listens and does a good job. That’s really important cause he’s food motivated so he’s not feeling like it’s a punishment. Also the battery life is great, we were out about 2 hrs one day and then another hr the following day, we didn’t charge for atleast 3-4 days, there was no problem. It’s been a really good first week and seems very promising. We will keep using it until we see that he’s able to stay focused with out the beeping or assistance of the collar. It also worthy to mention if you have more than one dog, do this separately. I have two dogs and one is great of the leash the other is the one using the collar.
